This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Games You Would Like to Pervert

All right, survey time you primitive screw-heads. Name the one game that ideologically, stylistically, or otherwise turns you off to the point you dream about playing the game just as an excuse to deliberately violate every one of the designer's reasons for writing the game. A symbolic and artistically critical slap in the face. A knobby, extended middle finger pointed straight at the ass-clowns that play and love that game.

Oh, and you must tell how you would fuck with said game. Extra credit if you write it in the style of a Penthouse Forum letter.

You can also come up with something that is not only original and creative and artistic, but also maybe even decent, or moral if I can use words like that, or something that\'s like basically good -Lester Bangs

I would - and have - reduced Exalted to an (albeit high-level) dungeon crawl, complete with traps, wandering monsters, treasure, etc. using parts of WG4 as a basis.

Basically the thing that would set Exaltofags crying for their Naruto character pillows.

Playing 1E AD&D as a high magic munchkin type game.

Easiest way to do this was to make any and every spell as at-will with no restrictions.

EDIT:  It makes some old schoolers really angry.

Why would someone hate a game this much?

The only stuff that i'm ideologically opposed to, i wouldn't go near with a barge-pole in the first place and most likely couldn't be subverted as the system matters crowd come to your house and pee against the windows if you mess with the game as written! :D

I wouldn't play CoC for the same reasons I wouldn't eat cardboard, but I don't think I despise it enough to write to Penthouse about it.  The editors wouldn't publish my rape fantasy about Savage Worlds, so why should I give them the pleasure?

Yeah, this. The stuff I really don't like, I just don't play or purchase.
"Meh."

They do like it RAW, don't they? I guess I can't see hating a game so much you would get satisfaction from perverting it. There are many games I don't care for, others I wish I could like and just can't, and still others I'm OK with playing, but wouldn't want to run; but I don't actually hate any game to that extent. The closest I come is perhaps RaHoWa. Rather than pervert it, though, the subject matter is so utterly distasteful I wouldn't - as you put it - touch it with a barge pole.

Anyway, I think I've interfered with Kellri's fun enough. He's sitting there with a bag of popcorn and no show...

I've always wanted to butcher a Star Wars game.

I love the idea of killing jedi by setting off bombs around the corner from them or decompressing the deck they are on, sense no one uses space suits in Star Wars.

Ian Absentia

So, if I'm parsing the OP correctly, the point isn't to have fun perverting a game, but rather pissing off some group of gamers who enjoy a game that I don't.  Fuck that.  That's Pundy's raison d'ĂȘtre, not mine.

My dark fantasy isn't directed at any one particualr system but at fantasy games in general. I'd just like to see a 2 year moratorium on playing any fantasy roleplaying , just to give the other kind of games a fighting chance.

It's not so much that I hate fantasy that much, its  I just understand the stranglehold it has on the hobby. That can't be healthy.
New! Cyberblues City - like cyberpunk, only more mellow. Free, fully illustrated roleplaying game based on the Fudge system
Bounty Hunters of the Atomic Wastelands, a post-apocalyptic western game based on Fate. It\'s simple, it\'s free and it\'s in colour!

Maybe for some, but as far as I can tell, it's an officially supported playstyle.  Hell, one of the SAS modules has you running around in the buried ruins of an ancient city fighting baddies.  Not to mention artifact-finding quests are pretty common.

Actually, Exalted could do well for a RC-style campaign.  Start off as an artifact-hunting group, then use said artifacts and treasure to build an empire, moving into the mass-combat rules.
"In a way, the Lands of Dream are far more brutal than the worlds of most mainstream games. All of the games set there have a bittersweetness that I find much harder to take than the ridiculous adolescent posturing of so-called \'grittily realistic\' games. So maybe one reason I like them as a setting is because they are far more like the real world: colourful, crazy, full of strange creatures and people, eternal and yet changing, deeply beautiful and sometimes profoundly bitter."

I think a Call of Cthulhu game where the PC's are a human strike team that goes around picking off Cosmic Horrors like a bunch of high-level AD&D characters carving their way through Deities and Demi Gods would be a riot.

There was a time (pre GURPS, pre Danger International) where we used Champions to play regular people which was (kinda) a perversion, since it read like a Super Hero's game.

Cheers,
-E.

See, I would love to pervert a few games that I love, turning them to twisted uses like this.
