This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I posted about it a while ago.

http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=28055

New minis, new adventures, some rules tweaks, resin furniture, probably new maps, new wilderness board.

Potential problem is. It is not official. They are using some sort of licensing agreement loophole which is just begging for trouble. So far though Hasbro and Games Workshop havent acted on it. Wont know till either it succeeds or they close it down. Really 50-50 on this.

Sculpts so far look great and there will apparently be alternate female models for each character.

No expansions though.

Basic HQ didnt have any skaven. That was Warhammer Quest. (Not sure about Advenced HQ, heard of, never actually seen)

So base set was mostly orcs, goblins, zombies, skeletons, mummys, chaos warriors, chaos sorcerer, gargoyle, firmir.

Yup. There aren't any pictures of the figures yet, though they have illustrations of the barbarian, dwarf, elf, and wizard. The list they say is:

1 barbarian
1 dwarf
1 mage
1 elf
1 huntress
1 female dwarf
1 wizard
1 female elf

On the one hand, I'm glad they include female models. However, the labeling raises a big eyebrow for me. i.e. It presents as if there is a normal dwarf, and then there is a dwarf with a special qualifier.

"Dwarf" and "Elf" aren't really very characterful names. The recent WHQ computer game renamed their Dwarf and Elf the Ironbreaker and Waywatcher, which kinda helps.

Aren't elves all girls and dwarves all boys?

?

It's the Warhammer setting. They have tons of history for each of their species, with their own fighting groups. Going to the generic is just being crap, especially when you later introduce more characters of the same species... it would be like calling the Barbarian "Human".

A quick (bad) translation of the FAQ. I parsed out as best I could. There may be some mistakes!

QuoteDoes GameZone have the rights to HeroQuest?
Yes, GameZone has acquired the rights to produce and distribute HeroQuest in Spain.

Is it a remake of the classic rules or revision?
It will be a revision. To republish something you already have around the world is meaningless. Yes, it will be closer to the Warhammer Quest Heroquest. The original game supporters perfectly corrected inconsistencies and provide it with more content and strengthen it. Without losing its essence. It was a game that worked well, but was very bare bones. At the end of the day almost everyone has fibe-tuned this game because it's a great base to do so and supports the change very well. We have read many remakes and versions of several countries, there is something almost all useful and are very few that have destroyed the game. That speaks of the virtues of the structure and mechanics of Heroquest.

HeroQuest? Appears only in Spanish? Will it only be available in Spain?
HeroQuest will be published in Spanish, English, French, German and Italian, and can be purchased by fans around the world.

And the board? Will it be like the classic or modular?
There will be both classic board as modular sections. also the classic board is reversible, one side is the original design, while the opposite side represent wilderness.

What material are the miniatures?
Miniatures will be made of high quality plastic resin.

Is it true that there will be new heroes?
Original heroes will be maintained but there will be female counterparts. Additionally one of the options Kickstarter offer 15 new heroes.

Who will be the villain? Morcar or Zargon??
Both. And either one or the other will have their own miniature.

Kickstarter

This will be my first Kickstarter. How does it work?
