This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Best. Star Wars Campaign. EVER.

My only problem with this is that it wasn't really known that Anakin Skywalker survived the Clone Wars. It was assumed he was killed during Order 66 along with all the other traiterous Jedi scum. From what I know, the only people who knew Anakin was Darth Vader were Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and Palpatine. Maybe a few clones too, but Palpatine probably killed them all after the fact. I don't even think Tarkin knew that they were one in the same, and according to the Clone Wars cartoon, he knew and talked to Anakin many times. I don't think anyone could make any kind of Skywalker-Vader connection if they didn't know the family history.

Ummmm... Anikin had some time as Darth Vader before being crammed into the suit.

He sure didn't sneak into the Jedi Temple.

Who was alive after the fact to share the knowledge? The temple was basically gutted after the Jedi were destroyed and I'm sure the security recordings were all scrubbed.

An entire legion of Storm Troopers? Bail Organa? Anyone else in the area? The Emperor's Guards? Advisors?

How would they know Anakin was Darth Vader? Look at how few people actually saw the transformation and then look at how many people were actually alive between the time he was outside the armor and inside. It's not that many.

Take it for what it's worth, but in one of the EU books Shadows of Mindor, it was said that the public believed Anakin was one of the last Jedi wiped out in the temple.

You'll have to come up with a better adjective. :D

Death Star was an inside job, i've seen the documents!

If you take away our tie fighters, Alderaan will commence again!
"Ghost Whistler" is rated PG-13 (Parents strongly cautioned). Parental death, alien battles and annihilated worlds.

RPGPundit

Amusing. It would certainly make for a very different SW campaign than the norm.

zarathustra

Quite clever and really, it only has as many oddities/holes as the original story anyway.

It would make a great campaign. I could imagine the pc's at first siding with the rebels and players maybe thinking this was all a bit ho-hum (I mean, they know what happens right?), then slowly discovering the Skywalkers were trying to take over the galaxy for themselves. Sweet.

The problem would be keeping the players interest before the twist (perhaps it works better if they are the kind who just ignore the war/use it to make profits until the slowly stumble on the twist).

Then you end up with a three-way clusterfuck finale, Empire vs Rebels sand Jedis vs Skywalker loyalists + Jedi and the PC's somewhere in the mix. Great.

AteTheHeckUp

Screw the mistakes.  It's a brilliant take-off on 9/11 Truthers, complete with crime family, and of conspiracy theorists in general.

That was my guess. Hilarious as satire, fodder for picky nerds. (Like, I admit, myself).

The one problem I see with it is that these "conspiracy theory" nuts who try to claim that the world is being secretly run by all-powerful evil satanic fascist jews are usually only able to (ironically) exist in free democratic societies; in the Empire, that sort of shit wouldn't be tolerated or popular.

The one exception of course being autocratic societies where its the despotic government itself that's pushing conspiracy theories, like Cuba or North Korea sometimes do about the U.S.; there, belief in said theories is now mandatory.

I disagree that these conspiracy theories would be useless in the Empire. I can see them being used as bait to attract potential rebels and miscreants, if only to have them be arrested and re-educated.

The Emperor seemed to enjoy having multiple plots going on like an acrobat spinning plates in the air, mainly to keep his rivals at each others throats so that they could not band together in enough numbers to unseat him.
"Meh."
