This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

There was never any serious prospect that anyone would be announcing WFRP 4th ed at this time, regardless of their other projects, unless the company in question were FFG.

FFG are still actively producing 40K RPG material and working on reprints of WFRP 3E stuff (they never said they were stopping selling it, only that they'd stopped making new products for it). We can infer from this that they still have the RPG licence from GW because if they didn't they'd have to stop doing both of those things sharpish. With the licence in FFG's hands, nobody else is going to be doing any official WFRP stuff until that changes.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

You're probably right, but it's worth bearing in mind that Fantasy and 40k may be distinct licences (As they are distinct settings), we don't know the full details of their agreements - there are separate videogame licences for the two.

I want an RPG set in the Blood Bowl world, but again, who else would.

I would.

Count me in, but only on three conditions:

1. FFG Publishes it
2. It uses the WFRP3e dice/system BUT
3. Without the tokens/cards/fiddly bits (more like Edge of the Empire/AoR)

You know, if any game would work with custom dice it's this one, but I'd use block dice and base the system around opposed rolls.

Hmm.

I've fond memories of Chronopia, so these would be good news for me.

After almost 8 years playing WFRP 2e regularly (the whole TEW and much more) I think my group has had enough Old World for a long time.

True, though my gut feeling is that the RPG rights just aren't a high enough priority for GW to make it worth their while negotiating two separate licences.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they were tacked on as an appendix to the boardgame licence as an afterthought.

Chronopia would be awesome but I'd like Leviathan even more.  Geez, Leviathan, I have to use that for a fantasy setting some day.

I wonder how a new Chronopia RPG would relate to/differ from the 5th edition of Drakar och Demoner (a Swedish BRP-w/d20-system) that was set in the Chronopia setting.

The latest, 8th edition of the game is set in its own world that is steeped in Scandinavian myths and folklore.

I always liked the vibe of Leviathan, even more bleak and brutal than Chronopia... the huge monsters and steam golems and elementals. But with only the one book it felt like there should have been more. Was there a bunch of stuff that came out for it but never made it into English?
