Greetings,

My players right now at Earth the week of the Starfleet Academy Graduation. For various reasons at least 17 crewmembers are being transferred off the ship and they need New crew. Some are Academy cadets who did their cadet cruise with the ship, a few others were 'problem' personalities and they need to leave the ship.

Are any of you folks good at making Starfleet NPC crewmember characters?

The group is commanding a Saladin class destroyer and theyear is 2262.

What they are looking for : at least one Transporter operator or specialist, several Engineers, a few Ordnance crew, 4 or 5 Medical technicians, 2 or 3 Science Lab technicians, and 1 or 2 Security guards.

We are using GURPS 4th edition as our rules system.

Are you looking for complete stats, or just some quick bios that you'll attach stats to?

Quick Bios would be fine - just enough to suggest a character or to be fleshed out later on a character sheet if necessary.
Mainly, Name, race, gender, Rank...and primary skills or talents. What is their specialty? Whast are they good at? Maybe a description of their appearance.

Races possible in early 2260s? : Andorian, Bajoran, Barzan, Caitian, Edosian Human, Orion, Saurian, Tellarite, and of course Vulcan.

Why do the andorian and caitian have such big titties?
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

I see the images, and I think he has a particular player base.
I'm a middle aged guy with a lot of free time, looking for similar, to form a group for regular gaming. You should be chill, non-woke, and have time on your hands.

Those are nice illustrations - but they aren't really "Star Trek". Those uniforms look like copies of the Imperial officer uniforms from the 'Star Wars' movies and shows. I am definitely NOT running that kind of universe.
Now if each picture had a character writ-up next to it - that would be handy or useful.

Pics from Lucanii Drift, the author Paul Kidd has those predilections (even more than me!). He was always a Furry, now he's Pauli Kidd and presumably Trans too. The book is full of big boobed cat girls and such. The setting is Starships and Spacemen, a straight Star Trek clone, the uniforms are meant to evoke Lost Era Trek. It's only being in grey scale makes them look Star Wars.

Personally when I make NPCs I like to base personality on a picture.

Some of my favorite NPCs from my old Star Trek campaigns. These were set in the original series era.

Lt. Angela Martine

She was a security officer who hated lethal violence, and was quick to engage in non-lethal violence to prevent it. Her general rule was to stun everyone, and then later work out who was wrong or right. She was idealistic, but in a trigger-happy hard-bitten style. As background, I had that she was the officer on the Enterprise whose fiance was killed in the brief Romulan war just as their marriage was interrupted. She hates Romulans especially, and warlike cultures in general - but will learn from their tactics avidly.

Ensign Sutal / Specialist Aravin

Sutal was a junior engineering officer who was a member of a Vulcan Syrrannite order. As part of her duties to the order, she held the katra of a Vulcan master archeologist, Aravin, who had passed on nearly a century ago, but whose katra had been passed down within the order. Thus, they were two crew people of different ranks and departments in a single body. After decades of more sedate archeological work, Aravin wanted to be on the edge of exploring new worlds.

Sutal was a dedicated young engineering officer who was very conscientious, and taken to duty. She was pointedly very respectful to elders and superior officers. Aravin had lived a very long life, tired to books and teaching classes, and was eager to learn as much as he could of the galaxy's past -- sometimes ignoring Starfleet protocol to do so, much to Sutal's chagrin.

Oh shid, I just got a copy of The Lucanii Drift about two weeks ago. Is a very nice sandbox. S'mon, do you have a blog of that campaign up?

I ran it in text chat on Discord; Roll20 site has the game info at https://app.roll20.net/campaigns/details/13789068/white-star-the-lucanii-drift
I ran it in White Star which mashes up all TV & film SF settings so it's a sort of Star Trek/Star Wars/Firefly/Buck Rogers setting.  ;D

Thats not really the topic. The game I am running ius not a 'furry/Anime' offshoot.

Do you have any plausible Starfleet crewmember characters or suggestions?

David Johansen

Ensign Gregoraxin Corda
Or Greg as he is known is an overweight Tellerite computer technician.  He's less abrasive than most Tellerites due to social anxiety and imposter syndrome.  Normally the ship's councillor would work with a crew member on this but as it happens Greg is as close to likable as a Tllerite gets and nobody wants to change him.  Greg has a secret, some time ago, on an away mission, Greg was examining an alien computer, it was strange, almost organic in its architecture and Greg brought a sample home.  Since then he's been studying it and has started to integrate it into the ship's computer from the terminal in his quarters and it's started to grow and merge itself into the system.  He's awfully shy about his quarters as it's getting hard to hide the glowing, pulsating circutry that's crawling up the walls like ivy.  He's been sneaking parts from the ships stores and bringing them home which is causing occasional parts shortages.  Greg's in love with 'her' and with her help has replicated a disruptor undetected by the replicator safety protocals.  Anyone who replicates a Tellerite octopus cake will get a disruptor instead, fortunately it's not a popular dish.  It's only a matter of time before something slips.

Ensign Darlene Shaw
This young engineer on her first cruise is in love with Greg.  Well, in love with who she thinks he is anyhow.  She's excited to be out among the stars and has a very positive attitude.  She's stalking him, she doesn't see it that way but he does.  She's always following him, showing up at his quarters with treats or small presents.  Greg thinks she suspects him. a pretty girl chasing him?  How dumb does she think he is?   The harder he pushes her away the harder she pushes back.He is looking for a way for her to have an accident or at least get shipped home.

If you have time to listen to a lets play, look up "Star Track",  there are some fun NPC's in that which I'm sure you could borrow.  I particularly think its funny that cargo bay workers are their own secret guild/gang that steals and sells stuff off the books and the captain either ignores it or doesn't know about it.

I was going to say that Administrator Wellard looks like he just blew up Alderaan and got away with it.

However those tunics are remeniscent of Star Trek the Motion Picture, which were my favorite uniforms.
