This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Just to comment on the price.  The book cover price will be about £17, same as Out of the Pit, with postage costing round about £3 in the UK and up to about £9 or £10 worldwide.  So getting it this way means that you may pay a £ or 2 more than final.  On the other hand, you are helping to get it published, you will be credited in the book and also you get it first.

Backers will get it by the end of the year.  Shops probably won't have it until march or so as it has to enter the C7 publication queue, get printed, distributed etc.  I will of course have some for sale from january, but you still have to pay P&P etc then.

And the reason we went down the KS route for this was that paying for 250-odd bits of art is fairly expensive (much more so than for the other books).

Of course, if anyone wants to wait and buy, that is fine by me!

As a matter of interest, did C7 actually print and distribute the Heroes Companion, Blacksand or Sorcery?

What has happened with all three is that i get it finished, and done a short print run for me to sell as it can take a couple of months to get into distribution via C7.  Blacksand is due to be printed next week and should be at distributors shortly afterwards and the Sorcery Spell Book will follow.  Heroes companion is now available via distribution.

I just found out about this when it was mentioned at our AFF game tonight. I think this is one Kickstarter that I'm more than happy to back. Now, can I stretch out to the leather version...

BTW Graham, can you PM me your contact details so we can poke you about Conpulsion?

Bottg, I bought the AFF core book and found some of the illustrations didn't come out well, seeming more like grey rather than black line art. Has this problem been addressed?

That sounds like a first printing.  The images were all optimised in the pdf and at the printers to darken the art.  We have made sure all of the later books have been optimised as well.

I'm unlikely to back this one, not my cup of tea, but as a backer of Maelstrom: Domesday, I can say that Graham's communication throughout the project has been top-notch.

I'm very glad to hear that. I must admit that I was disappointed with my purchase of the core rules due to that. It caused me to shy away from buying the other AFF books.
I don't wish to derail the thread, but are there any plans to release the core rulebook as a hardback?

That i think is very likely indeed.  I have a couple of hardback Blacksands left over from that kickstarter, and they are very nice.

Oooh.. hardback or not, you should send me a review copy; having read and owned that book for a long time and run several campaigns set in Blacksand over the years, I think that a highly positive review would be a foregone conclusion.

Question for Graham, by the way: I know the AFF 2nd edition books distribute information in a slightly different way from the original Dungeoneer/BlacksandsAllansia books (with the exception of Titan and Out of the Pit, which as far as I can work out are straight reprints). Is there any information in Allansia which hasn't made its way into the core book and Heroes' Companion?
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.
