Quote from: GabrielI don't remember this being asked here ,so what are everyone's favorite systems?

Depends on the type of game Fudge, Hero, Warhammer FRP, and d20 are all systems I enjoy playing, probably in that order.  My group used to play a lot of homebrew systems, though a lot of our homebrew quirks have been meshed in with the version of Fudge we use.  As a GM, I prefer lighter systems to heavier systems, though running a D&D 3.5 game recently did teach me a great deal about detailed planning of adventures.

D6, GD-i/Impresa, HERO, Theatrix, MegaTraveller, Classic Traveller and RC D&D.

The Ubiquity system, as seen in Hollow Earth Expedition, looks very nice too.  And Levi Kornelsen's Perfect 20 cuts away a lot of the crewing around that makes me go "meh" at the d20.

Theatrix, eh?  That game taught me something, I think.  I'm not sure exactly what, but I feel reading it and running it once was a good experience.

And one of the designers was my first online contact with someone who made a game I was interested in buying.  That was around '92.  I was bitching on Usenet about how they shipped the book shrinkwrapped.  I hate that.  The dude (name escapes me) offered me a personal money back guarantee if, after purchase, I thought the contents sucked.

Knightsky

Unisystem, in all its forms, is probably my main drug of choice these days.  That said, Castles & Crusades is the next game that I will be running.

Other long-time faves include, classic Traveller, DC Heroes, Villains & Vigilantes, Timelords, CORPS, Arduin, and Tunnels & Trolls.

I'm currently in my first-date crush stage with genreDiversion i, so that gets mentioned first.  I'm in the mood for something rules-light that I can just throw together so I can play already, instead of my usual routine of hours upon hours of preparation until I burn out or become interested in another game on my bookshelf.  Coyote Trail looks like it'll be a nice system for running Deadlands, Hard Nova ][ has been fun thus far, and I'm looking forward to picking up Iron Gauntlets before long.

My old standby systems are GURPS 3rd Edition, Fuzion, D6, BRP, WFRP 2nd Edition, and Earthdawn.

I also love my game-specific systems like Castle Falkenstein and FVLMINATA.  I hope to actually run the latter someday.

Right now, I'm trying to figure out what system would work best for running Fading Suns (since I'm not fond of the Victory Point system).  Since the world is so complex, I want a system that's very easy to set up and run.  Right now, Fuzion is looking like the likely candidate, though I'm also looking at Alternity, True20 (or, even simpler, Core Elements), Fudge, or wondering whether Impresa will be able to give me what I want...

Or maybe I'll just chuck it all and use The Window.

My favorite is still d20. A lot of people say it's too restricting, or too confusing, but I haven't really run into that problem.
I am becoming more and more hollow, and am not sure how much of the man I was remains.

Aos

these days I'm a bitch for true20, and I also dig classic traveller quite a bit. I got a lot of milage out of Earthdawn back in the day, and for sheer reading pleasure, it's hard to beat CoC d20.

I learned a lot about pacing and dramatic necessity -- and narrating, too.

True 20 comes first, then D20, WHFRP 2nd editioncomes after those, Coc D100 off course.
I also found the system of Qin outstandingly interesting, as it does an incredible job at recreating the feeling of a mystic china story, such as hidden dragon crouching tiger, hero, or house of flying daggers.

Dominus Nox

GURPS is a good gameline, despite my opinions re some of the 'people' who work/ed on it.

I like spacemaster's system but hate making characters in it. Once that nightmare's over the system is pretty OK,

Mekton Zeta is pretty good for various things.

The system that chaosium used in rignworld was a great one, I'd have used it as the basis for a universal system if I'd done one, it had all the essentials.
RPGPundit is a fucking fascist asshole and a hypocritial megadouche.

I dont care much for GURPS the system but the supplements are great for any system.

GURPS space is a must have book for any sci-fi gamer, not matter what system you use.

Absolutely. I've only ever played GURPS once, but I own half-a-dozen supplements that I've dipped into.

I've long been a fan of Cyberpunk 2020, although the online community is starting to disillusion me to it. I use GURPS principally because my tabletop group do, or I'd use Tunnels&Trolls / MSPE for quick fun or my beloved old Dragon Warriors system (with a few houserules).

Hmm, my top ten;

1) RuneQuest 3
 2) Cyberpunk 2020

 3) Megatraveller
 4) Call of Cthulhu 1st/6th editions
 5) Twilight 2000 1st edition*
 6) Space 1889
 7) 2300ad*
 8) Paranoia 1st edition
 9) Harnmaster
10) Warhammer

The first two are my all time favourites, and any fantasy game like AD&D Dark Sun or similiar I convert over to RQ3. I love the RQ3 Glorantha. I really don't care for Hero Wars/HeroQuest. I've had a long running mercenary campaign set in 1475 Historical Europe run with RQ3, it's amazingly versatile.

Cyberpunk 2020 is my favourite modern game, and anything marked '*' I usually play as a CP2020 conversion.

Both of my faves seem to be about grungy non-heroes, not noble elves who don't get BO. I'm definitely a socialist! :D
I don't believe in Forge Game Theory

Indeed, the WWII supplements were actually quite good.
