SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I heard a while ago that the rights to Amber was bought by Guardians of Order, who had planned to make a new edition. But as they are no longer in busness they won't be doing it. I had also heard that most of Guardians properties had been picked up by other companies and was wondering if this was also the case with Amber.

Hi victor, I don't know if you noticed, but on this site we have a whole FORUM dedicated to Amber and Erick Wujcik, one that is Official, and where Erick himself frequently posts.

Anyways, in answer to your question, a couple of dudes had made a wild claim in a recent Ambercon that they had finalized a deal with Erick Wujcik for the Amber rights, but my own investigations quickly demonstrated that this wasn't true, and Erick Wujcik has said that he is currently in negotiations with several possible parties interested in publishing the game.

Wow, no I didn't know about that forum. I'm new to these bourds so thank you for bringing that to my attention. I would also like to thank you for the update and wish Erick the best of luck finding a great deal for his hard work.
