This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Celestial;937737I would really like to play M-Space and try out the new Villains & Vigilantes when the new edition comes out, but it's been a really long while since I last GMed and I don't know if I'd be able to find a virtual play group that would be interested in playing either...
By 'virtual play' do you mean online? 'Cause I'd happily play in either of those.

GMing:
Keep running Mythras Conan.
Once I get the Savage Rifts books, combine those with Interface Zero, Sci-Fi Companion, etc and begin construction of Savage 40k.

Playing:
Mythras fantasy campaign
OSR-style homebrew fantasy campaign
Maybe Delta Green

All the other things I kid myself into thinking I'm going to have time for I will abstain from listing, I'll get too pissed knowing I probably won't get to them.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

I plan on GMing an Adventures in Middle Earth Campaign starting in January.  As a Tolkien fan, I'm pretty excited to try Cubicle 7's Middle Earth version of D&D 5e.

I'm proofreading a lot of Cepheus Engine driven stuff, almost more than I can handle. But hey, I volunteered to do it.

Keep running my WEG Star Wars campaign once overtime is finished at work. Run some more Traveller when we reach a good stopping point in Star Wars.
"Meh."

I hope to start a Pendragon game with my group, and when Conan comes out, run that as well.

Running a 0D&D Campaign set in the newly designed world of Darthon 1x a month

Playing in a 5e Campaign set in the newly designed world of Darthon 1x a month

Running a bi-weekly Star Wars Saga game on roll20 Star Wars: Shadow of The Force, set in the Rebellion Era.

Running an asychronous PBeM game of Dawn of Worlds, The Song of Corrien. This is to finish a UCon worlbuilding workshop that went very well.
Blackmoor grew from a single Castle to include, first, several adjacent Castles (with the forces of Evil lying just off the edge of the world to an entire Northern Province of the Castle and Crusade Society's Great Kingdom.

Currently have a D6 Star Wars campaign fermenting in my head... It's going to be a Rebellion Era Spec Ops campaign. The kicker is that their team is designated Spec Ops 4 - a number which is considered unlucky by Zelosians and lucky by Orfites. The team's going to wind up with a Zelosian technician (Druune Melor) and an Orfite medic (Porgo Renn) as occasional comic relief. Hopefully I'll be able to start at the FLGS and run it at least one Sunday a month with some asynchronous gaming on Roll20.

"...maybe this has to do with my being around at the start of published RPGs and the DIY attitude that we all had back then but, it seems to me that if you don\'t find whatever RPG you are playing sufficiently inclusive you ought to get up off your ass and GM something that you do find sufficiently inclusive. The RPG setting of your dreams is yours to create. Don\'t sit waiting and whining for someone else to create it for you." -- Bren speaking on inclusivity in RPGs

Hope to continue GM'ing L5R and SR next year. Might dabble with Star Wars scheduling and real life permitting.

Numenéra, but making it actually sci-fi instead of "medieval fantasy 1,000,000 AD". Copious use of charts from Stars Without Number and other OSR space games (GURPS Space too).

Very excited.

Yeah, online with Roll20.  That sounds like a plan!

I am preparing to run Maze of the Blue Medusa using Swords & Wizardry rules on Roll20.  I expect that'll be the dominant game of the year.

Aside from that, since this is a New Year's Resolution sort of thread, I'd really like to actually play some games in person.  I have some stage fright there that has prevented me from going to my FLGS much, but I'm going to try to get over that and get some extra games in on the weekend.

There are loads of conversion docs online. If I could do Savage 40k with just the corebook, you will have no problem whatsoever.

Use thy Googlefu!

My gaming has been pretty sporadic. I get to finish off my Dark Sun 2nd edition game monday. So that's a good start to 2017.
The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.
