This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Do you have a favorite D&D campaign setting?

I generally prefer to make my own setting, but I do like Ravenloft as well.

I had the original Stormbringer boxed set, I think by Chaosium. I believe Games workshop made a later edition of Stormbringer.
Actually Stormbringer was the first RPG I ever ran.

The first RPG I played was ADnD.

Oddly its Maztica. Greyhawk was our first setting but Maztica ended up being popular with my buds.

Welcome aboard Grognard101!!

I played extremely little Maztica and I never heard it on anybody's fave list, thus YOU must start a MAZTICA thread!!

Not joking. Totally want to hear about your Maztica campaigns and why it works for your crew.

Everyone is WELCOME to discuss ANY kind of games. The main RPG forum is for traditional RPGs. The OTHER GAMES forum is for everything else.

Posters are 1000% welcome to wank about their favorite storygames in the Other Games forum.

Same with board games, card games, 40k, etc.

Howdy! Neat to hear you like Maztica. :) I had a few ideas myself about changing the game so as to make its magic competitive vs. Faerûn, and left that design topic in this website's design forum. Let me find it and link it and we can explore ideas! :)

edit: found it! here ya go!
Just make your fuckin\' guy and roll the dice, you pricks. Focus on what\'s interesting, not what gives you the biggest randomly generated virtual penis.  -- J Arcane

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

I really like the Underdark, but I don't want to just focus on Drow all the time.
I need you to roll a perception check.....

I never found Maztica very convincing.
