SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

Welp, it's Official: Banned from RPGNet

Note that I was in no way trying to get banned. In fact, I bent over backwards to try to find some kind of common ground, but not being liberal enough is the ultimate offense.

Ironically, they accuse me of the exact same kind of ulterior motives they have repeatedly displayed:

KaiTave: when he decides to start a thread I'm pretty sure he was aware would result in some sort of politically-motivated whargarble (but he's totally not trolling, scout's honor, he even says so in the thread title!), then runs to Trouble Tickets to demand it be reopened while expressing "sincere concern" over the off-topic forum's media neutrality, he perhaps isn't doing so in as good a faith as he would like it to appear.

The thread in question: Is MSNBC biased? CLEARLY trolling.

KaiTave is an old buddy of mine, one who has particularly enjoyed lecturing me. He even made a point to get in a dig AFTER I was permabanned:

[Must be paraphrased as it was deleted] I'm sure now you'll go run off to complain about us on other sites about how you were the squashed as the voice of reason.

In related news, KaiTave reads The RPG Site!

Also, he can read the future.
Memes are voluntary brain damage, short-circuiting higher thought processes with copy and paste, because these people view thinking as unpleasant homework and they\'d rather copy it off the Internet. They\'ve become a vehicle for regurgitating things they\'ve seen before, the textual equivalent of the winter vomiting bug. And about as fun to spend time with.

Thanks for proving him right.  :nono:

Only unbeknownst to Kai, most people here don't like your posting style either.
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

Burned!

Well, I like to think my posting style here will now balance toward discussing RPGs, since now I have no alternatives.

Also, this was a personal attack. Don't post on this thread again.

I don't. Believe me, I would prefer not to be banned. I'm even considering appeal on the grounds that I stay out of OT, as that's where they want to put me in my place.

And to be honest, I do repeatedly poke them with a stick. But the general idea isn't to flamebait, but simply "Let's try to get you hippies to at least admit this incredibly moderate and reasonable position." I kept assuming that somewhere under the groupthink there were people who honestly wanted to be fair.

Fuck TBP. I've been gone from that place for over a year and haven't missed the liberal shithole since.

Hey now.  In some ways, I am a liberal, particularly when it comes to social issues.  Tangency isn't liberal.  It's left wing extremist that cares less about true equal rights and more about protecting those posters who love their white/male guilt and making sure you feel guilty too, all the while manufacturing reasons to attack and ban the person rather than the argument of anyone who doesn't fit into their viewpoint.

It's Animal Farm, essentially.  A certain group of the oppressed who only wanted equality, upon attaining power (protection of the site and staff), engage in the very same behavior they were complaining about earlier.

This place strikes me as just as liberal in practical terms, it's just not as politically correct.

Yes, that. The thing is groupthink makes it impossible to see that about yourself, so whenever I encounter it I'm constantly asking myself "Am I the asshole?" Based on the beating I'm taking here, clearly the answer is yes. But that doesn't negate the assholeishness on the other side. TRPGP is a self-defined asshole, yet he's sometimes right.

Yeah just about any place that has typical internet demographic skews (less than half American, mostly young, etc.) is going to look pretty damn lefty compared to the average American. There's just lefty and then there's undergrad soc major lefty...
