While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. It's not enough to charge people with misdemeanors. They must be forcibly reeducated.

This is some Russian/Chinese level bullshit here.

Defend this. Try. I wanna see this.

Greetings!

Eye-opening, my friend. Another example of how corrupted and subverted our own government has become by the fucking Marxists.

Defend what? It's politically biased "entertainment programming" (read propaganda) disguised as news. You really should know the difference by now.

This was solely the product of the diseased mind of the defense attorney, not the judge.
The woman should have fired her attorney.
However there is a huge problem in finding good representation for reasonable fees in the District of Columbia.

You probably skimmed over that part, but the article specifically said none of these people were able to afford their own attorneys. This was a public defender. She didn't really have a choice.

Well, it isn't like they haven't been forcing re-education on the those who hold different political stances for a while now.

Wasn't it D'Souza who had to see a psychiatrist at the Judge's order as part of the sentence for a few thousand dollar campaign finance violation a few years back?

Huh. I had only glanced at the article and had assumed that the video-watching was ordered by the court, but upon reading, DocJones is right. She could have fired her attorney and gotten another one. And to be fair to the attorney, her strategy got her client off with just probation when many similar clients got heavier sentences.

It's a broad feature / bug of our justice system that clients who convincingly say they're sorry and that they've changed their ways will get lighter sentences. Bow and scrape to the government and you'll get rewarded.

I find it intolerable just how much leeway judges and especially prosecutors have in deciding how someone is handled in the justice system. Plea bargaining is especially common and horrible, in my opinion.

She had another option.  She could have rejected the attorney's advice and instead of apologizing for something completely unrelated to the riot and likely an abject lie, instead to apologize for her role in what actually occurred.

Like all the Black Lives Matter terrorists did?

The Capitol is a public space. Protesting is a Constitutionally protected right. We should bend over backwards to give people who show up at the seat of government with grievances every benefit of the doubt. And she literally just walked around a bit. She has absolutely nothing to apologize for.

The Capitol is not Schumer's and Pelosi's private sacred place, that must remain untouched by the dirty deplorables they despise while pretending to represent. Assuming you're a US citizen, it's your place. It's my place. It's the place of all of Trump's supporters.

The federal government has almost unlimited resources and power. Federal law is ridiculously punitive, and biased against defendants. Both are being wielded like a weapon, by an elite class who believe they are above everyone else, and they're being used to annihilate the people they're supposed to protect. This is an abomination.

If the world were sane, all of Congress would be thrown out in the next election cycle, and replaced by people who believe in serving the people, instead of the current cadre who see themselves as Lords and Ladies and the people as ants.

Honestly, my choice wouldn't be execution. It'd be life without parole in the same conditions the 1/6 protestors are being held in. That appeals to my sense of justice.

That's not the rules dude!  If you're upset with the status quo you're supposed to burn down minority owned businesses in minority majority areas.  Not the sacred halls of government!  What do you think this is some sort of liberal republic that's meant to fight tyranny!?!

I've said this so many times but never give up your guns or agree to a registry Americans.  Canadians have essentially been completely disarmed thanks to the registry up here.  When they decide some day to suspend all our Charter of Rights and Freedoms (not inalienable rights but instead graciously given to us by our benevolent overlords in government) the RCMP will kick down the door of every gun owner at 3 am and disarm everyone.
