SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The RPGPundit's Own Forum Rules
This part of the site is controlled by the RPGPundit. This is where he discusses topics that he finds interesting. You may post here, but understand that there are limits. The RPGPundit can shut down any thread, topic of discussion, or user in a thread at his pleasure. This part of the site is essentially his house, so keep that in mind. Note that this is the only part of the site where political discussion is permitted, but is regulated by the RPGPundit.

If SJWs had their way, tbey would have musicians rerecord their old songs sans offensive  lyrics. Unlikely  to happpen,  but yhese assholes did try to fuck with metal, so...

So history is being rewritten by the artists themselves now, discarding anything of their past they're uncomfortable with.

I can understand an artist making a personal decision to retire a song or change it up in their live sets. This notion of bowdlerizing past records to appease some imaginary "woke" fandom is crazy though:

QuoteWhy not make other albums open for tweaks years, even decades, after their release? Sure, you can't really alter the physical copies that are already out there, but in the contemporary world where so much of music is listened to via streaming, that seems to matter less and less.

In d20 Gamma World part of the build up to the world ending war was various factions using super science to literally overwrite peoples wills to their cause.

Who knew you didnt need super science to do that? Just social engineering.

I also viscerally dislike bowdlerization. I don't know about many past examples in music, but it happens very regularly in books and film, though - enough that "bowdlerize" is a word.

Mordred Pendragon

We must oppose the censorship efforts of the SJW Far Left and stop these Neo-Bolsheviks from ruining music like they are doing with every other medium.

If the SJW's have it their way, it would all be shitty punk rock, pretentious hipster indie music, and other "woke" garbage.

Personally, I love problematic songs like this....

Funny how Bruce Baugh, who made that game, is one of the biggest fucking SJWs around, and has proven himself to be perfectly fine with using slanderous lies to try to manipulate people to his agenda.

Men such as Ray Bradbury, George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, and Kurt Vonnegut do seem to have predicted a lot of what is now coming to pass.   Harrison Bergeron was written in 1961, two years before Betty Friedan's Feminine Mystique was published, yet described in cutting satirical form the anti-meritocratic direction feminism has taken over a span of decades.  Screens with cameras and microphones in every house, historical revisionism, rampant hedonism coupled with consumerism, penalizing the most able.. it's all happened.  I suppose the prediction of such outcomes was possible because they were the logical conclusions of the Marxist and egalitarian ideas that were advanced during their time.

1984 was true Prophecy at work.  It is scary just how accurate 1984 was.  You'd think George Orwell had stepped into a time machine, and travelled to the present day.
I need you to roll a perception check.....

Orwell comes and goes, as the mainstream dallies with totalitarianism, and then comes to their senses.

Huxley is always topical.

I remember the 90s when the left were worried about the threat to free speech from corporations buying out media monopolies and the right were all "chill, it's not censorship unless the government does it".
