This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

As for heromachine, I agree its a good resource.  But lazy as I am, and enamoured with other people's artistic skills, I think deviantart is more to my liking.  My last campaign was run with the aid of literally thousands of deviantart images (didn't end up using half of them, mind you).

He could be a young Dworkin.
I did the same with deviantart stuff! Maybe we have shown the same pictures to the players (I did it with an iPad: tons of paper saved!).

It wasn't really how I pictured him initially, but when I saw it, I was inspired. III/IV spoke to me of the passion of creation and evoked Dworkin's speech to Corwin about the urge to create. II had a very broody, Lord-of-Chaos feel to me and the eyes evoked the price one pays for ultimate knowledge.

I admit, it doesn't work for everyone. Fortunately, there are many awesome artists at DeviantArt to flesh out everyone's taste.

Has anyone found any good pictures to use for Deirdre?  I very much dislike the picture from the Wucjik book.

I've found that some of the cards from the board game Dixit can be pretty good, and they are a nice physical size, too.  And the game is great fun as well.  In particular, I like the upper left card in this first set for Deirdre:

The expansions Dixit 2 and Dixit Odyssey also look like have a lot of good cards, I just don't have them.

Most of these cards make some great Trumps for places (and traps) too.

RPGPundit

That looks way too childish for my tastes.

i have to agree, too kiddie-like
also takes up waaaaay too much soace on this thread I started.
all those pics to see a Harry Potter-like pic of a woman w/dark hair that you see as Deirdre? very presumptuous...

oh well... as for the naked young psychopath man pic... well, nah.
perhaps would work better for me as a new character entierly, someone who has the book of the Serpent, or Book of the Unicorn... or something bookesque ;)
