This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Saw Aquaman last night. Not really a spoiler but its review I posted else where.

Spoiler
Saw Aquman last night.  It was fantastic!  It was also a shit show.  Don't worry about spoilers, nothing happens you won't sea coming from a mile off.  Unless you're 8 and have seen less than a thousand movies.

This was far and away the brightest prettiest DC movie.  Ever.  And the visuals were gorgeous!   The oceans were lit up like Pandora.  The fight scenes were really cool the creatures were Awesomesauce!

As a thing to watch.  Meaning as a thing to look at I have a hard time thinking of a better movie.  Maybe david Lynch's Dune (but completely different style) maybe Avatar (similar style).

As a screen play it was a mess.  It was all over the place.  Seriously, it was a shit show.  Too much going on.  Many of the moments that were supposed to have emotional intensity were hamhanded and campy.  The love story was dumb and completely cliche.  They almost avoided it in a way I thought was going to be cool and realistic and new.  But in the end she is a Disney Princess so she goes for the prince.

Overall it was a fun movie.  Not perfect, infact in many ways it was bad.  But It keeps moving fast enough that there is a new cool and fun thing.  Its the road runner with the ground pulled out from under him.  It never looks down so never falls.

Good preformances from Jason Mammoa   Whilhem Defoe.  Patrick wilson was right on the edge for me.  Nicole Kidman not sure about.  She was eierly smooth and pale and I'm not sure she gets it but she jumped in with both feet.

Long and the short go see it sea it in the theaters and don't look too close.

Its worth seeing.  As I have said else where I think Amber needs to be played in a different setting so the players get it.  Aquaman would be a perfect setting.  Its a throne war.  Family conflict, multiple 'allied' kingdoms linked through history and alliance, blood and marriage, but rivals and sometimes outright hostile.

Super powers, a lost tribe, a damned tribe, ancient powers and artifacts.  Its fucking shakespear for a while (but not written with near the tallent) then in the end, after Patrick Wilson has been plotting an skeeming and murdering and is just about to finnish conquring the last tribe and unite the Kingdoms Jason Mamoa shows up on the Karaken and starts wreaking shop.

It would be a cool setting for Amber, and Amber diceless is the proper rule set to play it with.
