This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Hi Amber fans,

I tried five years ago to sell my Hannah Shapero painting of nine of the prince(ss)es of Amber, but got no takers. Just found this forum, though, so I thought I'd give it another try with the right audience.

Have had it for over 25 years, but it spent most of this millenium in a closet :-(.

Bon chance,
Beam

Oh, man. I'd love to have that! I'll have to ask my wife if it's okay to place a bid. (I see that it has one bid already....)

Yeah, it's a fun painting for an Amber fan. Very colorful, the characters all in their accustomed garb and attitudes; plus there are little jokes here and there, like a teddy bear and a coke can on the bookshelves.

I also heard from the artist herself. She now goes by the name Pyracantha, but is still very active in the SF/Fantasy art scene. She was thrilled to see one of her early paintings again! She even had the record of it in her catalog - #277, sold for $56 in 1982. Given that I was a new graduate making $13K/year, that was probably my discretionary budget for the month!

Good luck,
Beam
