"Hmmm. Appreciation for history lesson Father, clarification sets heart as ease.Madness makes more logic than Demon witches!." I press a few silver coins into his palm..."Please accept humble offering for the immediate needs of village." as I indicate the gathered folk "Let it not be said that Dakon is blind to those in need."

"Ah yes, chasing snipes would not serve ether us or the village" Sighard replies in a reasonable tone, "However it was not one of the villagers who mentioned this temple to us. We leave to see if there is truth to this tale, as it is only a days travel. Is there anything you could do to help us?" .

Sighard crosses his arms over his chest. He has all his , sword, shield, bow and travelling pack filled with gear all hanging from his huge frame.

"Bless you, sirs. I'll do what I can for the villagers. As for helping you..." Fr. Walter thinks for a few moments, then gestures for Rowe to bring over a nearly-empty bucket of water. Perhaps a cup of surprisingly clear water sloshes around at the very bottom of the pail.

"This is the last of the blessed water. We were using it to wash Edmund's body, but I can spare these last dregs. Its touch is anathema to evil spirits. If the soul of the last monk was unshriven, then it may be of some use. If you have something to pour it in, you are welcome to take it."

"You have my thanks Father, this will be a great boon if we should run into any kind of supernatural trouble. I can put it in a waterskin, unless someone has something better to transport it in?"

Is there a store that Sighard could do some shopping at? I forgot to spend my inital silver. I'd be picking up mundane items and a sword.

" Thank you father. May the benevolence of the One God shine upon your kindness and on this village in need." I take his hand once more and pump it a few times...

turning to my companions "Will go collect gear. Shall we meet where?"

some new acquisitions might be in order...or maybe not! Am itching to get into the woods

"One of the monks became fever-maddened, and slew the rest. What happened the murderer, I don't know. I imagine he would have died shortly after the rest, his soul stained with the sin." Walter shudders.

Bryce stands by silently throughout most of the interaction with Father Walter.  After the holy water is collected, he finally speaks up: "Tell me Father, might not the soul of the maddened murderous monk linger still in the place of his crimes?  I have heard tales of such tormented spirits in the past.  If this might be the case, would you have any counsel on how me might protect ourselves from his wrath?  Would the holy water that you kindly have granted us suffice?"

"Yes, if it is dabbed on the corpse, it will force his spirit to cross the Veil and go to its final judgment. We were using it on Edmund to ensure his soul does not return from guilt over his error," he gestures back to Ross's burnt body, now being painted with pitch by Rowe.

"I know many spells and prayers that will drive off evil spirits, and if we had more time, I could perhaps teach them to you, but I need them now for Ross in case some wretched evil should crawl into his body."

Yeah, there's a sutler in Breakwood who provisions travelers that you can buy that sort of thing from.

I listen in rapt attention to the exchange of Bryce and Walter, eyebrows raise at the bit about spirits crossing the veil.

I gently set my hand on Walters shoulder saying, "Thank you for the gift of potent water and the knowledge to use if needs be."

I look to my companions,"Am going to collect gear and stop by sutlers for trail foods. Will meet all at north edge of town."

As I jog off "Hiya to be treking again!"

Sighard empties his waterskin of mundane water then fills it up with the clear holy water. "Aye, a few last minute supplies might be the wise. I'll also stop by the sutler". Sighard says, agreeing with the Dakon.

Drohem

Norel listened silently as Father Walter and the others spoke.  They had asked the questions he would've asked, especially Bryce's question about maddened monk's soul.  He absently groomed his beard with his fingers as his companions and Father Walter held their conversation.  When it was over, he nodded silently in way of thanks toward Father Walter.

"Aye, at the edge of town then," Norel agrees with his companions.

He makes his way over to the Lumberjack and packs his gear.  Once everything was in proper order, he leaves and makes his way to the meeting spot at the edge of the village.

Bryce expresses his gratitude to the priest, and turns to the others to say: "Well, my friends, should we perhaps be on our way?  Once I collect my traveling equipment from the Lumberjack, I believe that I will be ready to go."

Bryce has nothing to do while the others purchase additional supplies, etc.  He doesn't need anything (I think), and probably could not afford to buy anything even if he did.

Bryce will try to use his raven familiar 'Dewin' to scout ahead from on high as the party travels. However, he will avoid putting Dewin in any danger, and instruct him to flee anything that might harm him right away.

If Bryce notices any unusual plants, birds, animals, etc., he will attempt to use his 'Nature Lore' skill in order to identify them.

Sounds good.

Llum> I'm going to abstract the purchasing of equipment for now rather than play it out since it's merely grabbing a few things you could have bought during char creation. The only exception is food. It's twice the normal price because of the sudden crisis.

So, give me an OOC list of what you want to buy, and we'll start as you all meet up on the Breakwood Village Green to begin your journey.

Psuedo.,
after checking gear while packing (string bow and draw a few times etc.) Amra is going to top off trail foods (10 days worth seems good) and any worn out gear (maybe a few more arrows and a newer blanket)at sutlers (no haggling) then proceed to await others...

Sighard meets the others after he has visited the sutler. "Ready to head out?" he asks those already assembled. "It appears that I'm the last to arrive".

Sighard has purchased 50 arrows, lock picks, 5 glass bottles (one of which is filled with the holy water transfered via the waterskin (which is now full of normal water again), a fishing kit, two large sacks and five torches. Total cost of 108 SP, 2 SP left over.
