This is the out-of-character thread for the play-by-post game Wanderers of Ka-Ereth.
Original recruitment and character generation thread here (http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=22205).
In-character thread here (http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=22282).
Great start. Now which hex is Mangmang on the map?
Is there an easy way to reference the hexes, or maybe you could post a marked up version in this thread? That way we'll have a slowly marked up players map of our own!
Just making sure you saw my character posted as well. I'll have to get it in my sig. Ok, it's in my sig.

Darn! I somehow missed your character.
Looks great, Alwyn will fit in perfectly. Does he come from Mangmang or another city? If he's from Mang, he'd have some inside information. Feel free to insert him in the IC thread as you wish. Maybe he's been hanging out with the others in the last couple of weeks of carousing.

The current map is for general orientation and to give you an idea of the world only. It's a huge area the size of Europe. Each hex is 75km. I plan to blow up each of the 9 sectors expanding each of the 50 mile hexes into a megahex (7 hexes). That will give a map with 25km hexes.
But this isn't intended to be a hex-crawl in a Judges Guild sense. I just chose to make a map with Hexographer as it's easiest.
Mangmang is in the centre map sector, top row. 5 hexes by road (yellow line) from Old Xan. To the north is Nevander, Iceseraph's homeland, a forested region mid-way between civilisation and barbarity. Mangmang is on the edge of Xan, otherwise Xanandus, a region of old cities and settled lands of considerable extent. I presume Javid's village Haran is somewhere a couple of hexes distant from the city. It's all remote backwoods a day's ride from the city gates.

He can be from Mangmang. That's why I didn't name a city :) Perhaps he's been their "guide", or an old bud that became the catalyst for them coming to the city.

Great! Are you using the Pro version of Hexographer to drill down inside the hexes, or doing it manually. I am very tempted to buy the pro version of hexographer just so I can have fun doing that.

I have it, love it. Well worth the money IMO.

Hmm, I'll have to check into the Pro version. It's definitely a great tool.
Hmm, is this one dead?
I posted, just waiting for others.
I couldn't really see what else to say, I was waiting for the GM.

Yeah, same here.
Shadow? You get tired of this already?
FYI, I lost a dog last night. Sophia, my 15 year old Chihuahua, got sick over the weekend and we ended up putting her to sleep last night. I will probably be away for a day or two (if this thing is still going forward).
Sorry.
I hope Shadow is ok.

Oh no! I'm sorry for your loss brother, take all the time you need.
I'm sorry about your dog, Techno. I know that can be tough.
Sorry about my absence guys. I've kind of been struggling with the open endedness along with the slow pace of PBP.
We have a couple of hooks, I'll try to use one of them to steer us into a more straightforward dungeoneering situation and hopefully that will prevent my brain from freezing up.
Thanks for your patience.

It's ok Shadow, I think you've been doing fine so far. This festival sounds intriguing, and I think it's the direction we players have decided to go. Right now we all need cash, so we're going to go towards the quickest and easiest method of getting some, just fyi :D
Yes I am happy with the festival idea, and doing some ghoul/vampyre hunting to get some cash.
But yes, we need clear propositions to choose from (and in the OOC thread you can be a lot more overt and simply say "which one, why, how") OR the ability to set very broad goals and you describe a lot longer..
BTW I am also happy (and the others may be as well) to pick up as GM if you need a break, we're in this together.
On which point, do you mind if we start to weave off topic side stories and facts into our posts? You could ignore or run with them if you want.
Bedlam and the others head out and find a good hiding place overlooking the 'stone' and wait all night. Come on Ref..
