Do you have a pair of adamantine cojones to...- Play a 0-level character?
- Play a character with 6 or less hit points?
- Play a character with only one weapon proficiency?
- Play a character who starts with a Neutral alignment?
- Play a character with randomly assigned ability scores?
- Play a character that starts with no money or equipment?
- Play a character who's only skill is a randomly generated Secondary Skill?
- Play a character that starts the game with negative 500 Experience Points?
I'm looking for 4-6 players to run the 1e AD&D module N4: Treasure Hunt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasure_Hunt_(module)).

This is from the back cover of the module...
"Marooned on a Barren isle....
The island of Viledel, the mighty Sea King, was sacked by a pirate army 60 years ago. Its destruction was so complete that even the location of the island was lost and forgotten. Despite the rumors of immense treasures still hidden in the ruined stronghold, no one ever found the Sea King's island again.
Until now. Through a cruel twist of fate, a small band of unwilling adventurers is washed ashore on a small, barren island, and discovers what remains of Viledel's settlement. But they aren't alone; marauding orcs and goblins have found the island too, and are frantically searching for the lost hoard. In this desperate treasure hunt, the real payoff may be survival.
Treasure Hunt is different from other AD&D game adventures. The player characters begin the game a 0-level, without choosing a class, and must work their way up to 1st level. It is perfect for a group of beginning players or experienced players looking for a new and different challenge."

Holy shit. Would you run the game here? Please?
If it's a play-by-post game, I'm in; however, I can't use voice communication software.
I would love to play. I'd prefer Skype of course if I can match the time to my terrible schedule--but my only concern is that's one of my favorite modules for doing AD&D in, so I'm familiar with it, very.
I can pretend I don't, but in that modules it creates some odd hiccups.
I have no knowledge of the module, personally.
Oops, I guess I should have included that it will be a PbP here. :)
Familiarity with the module is no big deal. I can, and probably will, make a few change ups and then always shake out differently once play starts.
OK I'm in (I really can't step too far away from the Ptolus game and the stuff I'm working on lately, so the game being AD&D and taking place here helps a lot for me to keep focused on my own stuff).
I've never done a PbP game and have no clue if I'd be able to stick with it, but I will be watching this with rapt attention because it sounds -awesome-.
I can't, but I'll be watching with great interest.
Sounds great .
What kind of time demand is required , daily , weekly , hourly ?

Realistically, I'm looking for committed players who can post at least 3-5 time a week. I would prefer daily posts to update the game and move it forward, but PbP games are like the tortoise and hare race: players start out of the gate fast and furious due to excitement and newness of the game and characters, but then there is the great dying and drying up of players after the initial excitement wanes.
So, I'm looking for tortoise players for this game; especially due to the nature of the module set up. The players are marooned on an isolated and forgotten island so replacing characters isn't going to be such an easy solution if players drop out of the game like flies.

Pourquoi, mon ami?
If you've got a spot, I'd be up for it.

OK, so it looks like we have three confirmed spots taken. :)

You know, there is a discussion forum that is specifically designed to talk about Vintage Games.
:) (just messing with you)
Count me in!
:)
Still got room? I'll jump in for sure.
Three to Five times a week , I can manage that .
I've only done PbP once and it died after a couple of weeks .
In addition I'm only a rung or two above a confirmed Luddite ,
so it will take Me a bit to adjust to a new (to Me) communications form .
If You're willing to put up with a noob (technologically) and there's still room Count Me in .
Ok, yeah, count me in if you'll have me :)

Alright, it looks like we have a full house. :)
I'll post a character creation thread shortly.
1. Haven't Played as opposed to Dming for years.
2. Three to five posts a week would be right up my alley time wise.
3. Never have done PbP (see #1 above)
4. Have ran campaigns that started with 0 level characters before
Count me in as well
I'm probably too late to the party, but I'll be watching with enthusiasm :)

You're both in like Flynn- get to rolling up your characters! :D
OK, so with the addition of Grey Lensman and Insufficient Metal I have 8 characters and a full boat (pun!).
The game is closed to new players at the moment.
Awkward question -- what are the chances I could get along without a copy of the PHB? Because mine's packed away.
Yes, I should have thought of that before opening my trap in this thread, sorry. I'd probably play something simple like a fighter, so...

That's no problem, just download OSRIC 2.0 (http://www.knights-n-knaves.com/osric/)! Also, you start off at 0-level with no class! ;)

Sweet, thanks!
And I have no class no matter what system we use, rimshot, here all week, try the veal, tip your waiter.

:rotfl:
OK, I have two slots open for more players. If you're interested, let me know ASAP and we can get you into the game right away. :)
Does that mean I'm out? Because even if it doesn't, I think you'd better go ahead without me. My work just decided to take a much bigger chunk of my time, and I can't realistically commit to this right now.
Thanks, Drohem, and I'll still be watching the game. :)

Bummer. Thanks for touching base. :)
