This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Yes....Boothill. One of the first of many RPG games I ever played, and my "to do" on my bucket list.

=========
   It is April of 1870. Arizona doesn't really have seasons like back East. There is hot, and then there is hotter than hell. You have spent two weeks in a stage crammed with several others who are destined, like you, to end up out here in the middle of nowhere. You have been in this rocking crate long enough to make an opinion on the other's character, and their education, and their learning, and probably know more than you really wanted to know about them. As you veer north along the Yuma Road, you try and clear the ever-present dust from your face with a hanky. Tomorrow, you realize that everyone on this stage will have some type of business to do in Vicksburg. Finally, you will be able to get about yours.
=========
The game mechanics were as simple as RPG games get. Percentile dice rolled under your skill (minus modifiers for range-difficulty-etc.).  Although the skills are brief and limited role-playing is not and will only be limited by the player. The version I would like to play is 2nd edition and came out in 1979. There is a good pdf fillable character sheet which I will send out with a pre generated character and it contains everything you need to start with. I don't know if it is legal for me to send you the rules, but it is amazing what a google search will pull up for 2nd edition Boothill.

Anyway, I will post the pre-generated characters if there is an interest and the main story line and the timeframe for its start is around 2 weeks from now if wanted. Here are what I have.

Pregen 1 A young Gunfighter who is looking for an extra "edge" and goes to Vicksburg to see the best gunsmith west of the Mississippi.
Pregen 2 A middle aged businessman who had his daughter kidnapped by Indians 12 years ago. He has come to make one last attempt to find her.
Pregen 3 A young man whose rich uncle has passed, and he has inherited his small bar.
Pregen 4 A semi-retired bounty hunter who is looking for a bounty that is big enough to allow him to move overseas and retire.
Pregen 5 A 16-year-old kid looking for a job. Any job.
Pregen 6 A down on her luck middle aged woman who is known overseas as a famous opera singer. She has been promised a regular show in town.
Pregen 7 working on it

Would like to use an online roller service for percentile rolls

So, thats that then. I think this post from Nov 2022 in this same forum that was unreplied to gives the best answer-

""Greetings! Please excuse my ignorance. I'm new to the site. Can/are play by post games being played here? Or is this more or less just a place to recruit players or join games being run on other forums? I saw mention in a different thread of a dice roller being up and running here, but don't see, or at least haven't found, any play by post games actually being played. Unless I'm blind and am just missing it??""

I know you didn't request my suggestion, but it may be to your advantage to call the Play by Post sub forum something else, as this tends to lead new users to believe there are Play by Post games going on here. Good Luck!
