This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The Mountains Under the Moon - so named by the men of the Thousand Kingdoms, for whom the lofty peaks reach so high they almost touch the celestial bodies... The inhabitants of the massif know different, of course, but legends persist that if one becomes powerful and beloved of the Gods enough, he or she shall be able to stand on the very tip of the tallest Mountain and reach out to touch a finger to the stars...

The Mountains Under the Moon campaign will take place in and around Silaish Vo, a small oligarchic city situated at the foot of a great mountain range which, like the Himalayas in our own world, reaches heights of over 8000 metres and separates continents.

Expect a game of yeti tracking, dragon dodging, dungeon delving, pillaging of ancient temples, battles with yak folk and rabid quaggoths, mountain climbing, avalanche avoidance, and exploration of half forgotten ruins, in a world reminiscent of modern Tibet and Bhutan.

I am looking for players committed to a long term game (I'm happy to go all the way from level 1 to 36!) who are at least somewhat familiar with the D&D BECMI sets and/or the Rules Cyclopedia. Broadly speaking I'd prefer people who can post at least once per day and who are happy to take the initiative; the campaign will be player-led, sandbox style.

It will be run via a yahoogroup.

Interested people should email me at tsitsatsa AT yahoo.co.uk.
Read my blog, Monsters and Manuals, for campaign ideas, opinionated ranting, and collected game-related miscellania.

Buy Yoon-Suin, a campaign toolbox for fantasy games, giving you the equipment necessary to run a sandbox campaign in your own Yoon-Suin - a region of high adventure shrouded in ancient mysteries, opium smoke, great luxury and opulent cruelty.
