This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

ZWEIHÄNDER - Character Creation beta live (need feedback)

ZWEIHÄNDER

Hey gang,

I just released the final beta version of ZWEIHÄNDER's character creation chapter, along with the "how to play" section to the public. Editing aside, this stage of ZWEIHÄNDER is nearly complete. However, I desperately need feedback on the process and flow for character creation.

If any of you are interested in helping, I'd appreciate any sort of constructive feedback you may oblige. Please follow this link to access the article on the home website, and related links to Google docs. Note that it's not in book format layout, so tables may overflow between pages. At nearly 80 pages, there's a lot of information to digest. However, you can use the comment feature to submit feedback during the process.

Thanks in advance!

Best,
Daniel
No thanks.

The Traveller

Dude, first piece of advice - don't ask people on an internet forum to read 80 pages of anything. Or if you do please tell me that 76 of those pages are lists and descriptions of skills, benefits, equipment, spells and the like.
"These children are playing with dark and dangerous powers!"
"What else are you meant to do with dark and dangerous powers?"
A concise overview of GNS theory.

The Traveller

Okay I just had a quick look through it, indeed it's 80 pages of more or less rules mixed with bare setting.

The tables were fun, no matter how often I re-rolled I couldn't escape low born, plus I got mismatched eyes, one milky and a complexion to match, with a slouched posture, and just because that cake needs the icing I rolled a nemesis disadvantage. There don't seem to be any percentiles given for blessings and curses though.

On the whole it seems lengthy but not weighty, quite palatable really, but I'd flesh it out with more florid setting specific prose and some dark humour. Maybe it's just the lack of art but I don't get a flavour from the process. Generally though quite nice, good work!

I will need 1-2 weeks before I will be able to give a full feedback, but I am very interested in Zweihander and happy to do some beta testing.
