[WOTC Re-prints] Anything else in the pipe?

Or any other "dream re-print" you would like to see?

I'm disappointed we haven't seen the RC. It seems like such a no brainer :(

But I'm still thrilled to death that we got what we did :)

I picked up all the 1e and 2e stuff. I passed on 3.5 and I'll pass on the OD&D reprint.

With Next due next year, I imagine reprints will put to one side in the lead up.

Concerning the RC, I would have preferred to see BECM printed in either one or two books. I would buy that one sight-unseen. Still would consider the the RC though.

Fuck, I'd prefer a B/X book over them all any day even though I've printed out the pdfs. Pad out the page count with B1, B2, and X1. They can have $40 more from me.

I'd be surprised if there wasn't anything else in the pipeline between the OD&D reprint and Next. The real test IMO will be just before and most importantly AFTER the release of Next. That's when we'll know if this was just a matter of cash flow for WotC or a real commitment to the fans of the previous editions of the game. Either way, we'll be fine, though, I have no doubt about it.

I'd love to see B/X packaged with B10 Night's Dark Terror.

I'd like to see the Fiend Folio and MMII, then maybe G1-Q1.

But that's just me.

For 2e I'd like to see a compilation of the first 4 "Complete..." books, ala the 1e adventure compilations.

Yeah, I've been saying since they started doing reprints that I'd pay good money for a B/X combination in one single book
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

i would like to see a hardcover tome consisting of u1 through u3 with new supplemental material in the vein of 3x's saltmarsh from dmg ii.

Yeah, 2e fans could use that for sure.

I've bought all the 1st and 2nd edition reprints so far (avoiding 3.X because I already have multiple copies, some being mint)...I can say without a doubt Mentzer Boxed Sets and the Rules Cyclopedia. I have three RCs (well, I gave one to my buddy), and all of the bindings are terrible. For the Mentzer sets, I'd like to see one nice box containing all the books and X1.

So far, I've bought all the re-released PDFs and, yeah, printing them out is pretty lame. I'd rather buy some new copies of all those old modules and put my original copies in a hermetically sealed box for after the apocalypse.
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

I could be off here, but, thus far, everything reprinted has not been released onto D&D Classics in .pdf format, and everything released in .pdf format on D&D Classics has not been reprinted. There's still some space between the two, but there aren't a lot of big items in that gap of neither .pdf nor reprint. It's kinda killed my hopes for some of the module reprints,  but makes me think RC and or BECMI are still a possibility. I can, in fact, see BECMI being the last reprint; wasn't Mentzer's Basic box the highest selling single D&D product of all time?

Anyway, sorry if I just burst anyone's bubble.

I would like to see the Van Richten Guides re-printed. Maybe in three or four large volumes (so long as they retain all the text). I think it would be important to keep the Fabian art but my understanding is WOTC doesnt have the rights (though I could be mistaken).

I wouldnt mind seeing some of the other setting material reprinted either. Maybe do each of the classic setting boxed sets as a hard cover (dont know how feasible it would be to include the poster maps).

I seem to recall reading on Fabian's site (had no idea how old he is!) that he had some major frustration with TSR, as early on they kept the rights to his art. That eventually changed, if I'm not mistaken, and the Ravenloft stuff is probably all from after that.

Hm. The settings all fall into that gap I mentioned in my post above. I'd be very interested in content from the various setting boxes consolidated into a series of hardcovers. I have difficulty believing this would happen, but who knows? I never thought WotC would start selling .pdfs again in my lifetime.  Maybe after NEXT releases with converted stats.
