This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

This should quiet the doomsayers for a bit....

Yeah but when are we going to learn what "All things are Born of Darkness" or whatever is supposed to mean?
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

While I'm happy for seeing signs of life from WW, most of the items in this list have been released in PDF for a while now. Maybe that's the much-vaunted new model? "If it's successful in PDF, release it in print"? What happened to PoD?

Block by Bloody Block is very good. I own it in PDF.

Me, I'm looking forward to WoD: Mirrors and Mage Chronicler's Guide, and curious about Danse Macabre.

James McMurray

I'm happy to see the Scion book Yazatas on there. Scion was meant to be a 3 book series and then die, but it keeps doing well enough that they put out another pdf and then a hard copy. Hopefully Yazatas will do well enough that they'll keep the line going.

Hunter is the only WW game we're playing (or have played recently). Anyone know what Block by Bloody Block is? It sounds like it could be about fighting golems, but I don't know anything about the Promethean line so am probably way off.

Block by Bloody Block is almost a year old, and reviews have been available for some time.

I do not think that having a print schedule that is 17 months behind unless it gets further delays is going to quiet any doomsayers.

-Frank
I wrote a game called After Sundown. You can Bittorrent it for free, or Buy it for a dollar. Either way.

Ah, thanks. I don't run the Hunter game, so I'll pass on it. But I'll definitely point the GM that direction.

Nothing is going to quiet doomsayers.  If they were releasing a bunch of brand new product alongside it, doomsayers would call it a desperate attempt to finish milking the nWoD fanbase before they pull the plug on it/reboot/restart oWoD/pick your scenario...

And even if they didn't announce at least half of this stuff in print, you'd get another "sky is falling" rant about how people want this stuff in print but White Wolf is ignoring their wishes.

When people want to see doom and gloom, nothing is good enough to convince them otherwise.

Most of it has been out in PDF for a while, apparently...I'm not a White Wolf guy, so I can't really say.

If they want to release a new game in the series, I'll take a look, but otherwise... *shrug*

I feel the same. I have enough nWoD goodness for untold years of gaming.

I only made the oWoD/nWoD jump in 2006, but I feel they "burned through" the nWoD is a hectic release schedule. Too much stuff in relatively little time, IMO.

Benoist

I've been blending the NWoD with selected stuff from OWoD, plus blending stuff from games like Nephilim and Ars Magica with the new Mage, etc. It's now "MY World of Darkness". I can't imagine needing more than this, or having supplements do a much better work than primary sources would. Though I was really positively surprised by Requiem for Rome.

Lawbag

There may be some great PDF products here that will see they light day in print format, but it is still "last years news". Plus who are they selling to? The White Wolf RPGer who doesn't visit their forums regularly and doesn't buy and use PDFs?
