This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Drivethru all the way! ive tried lulu in the past and didnt like the shoddy copies they sent me so now i only buy POD if drivethru offers it or if i can get it direct from the company themselves.

I've read somewhere that the quality of Lulu copies is depnedant on where they were printed. All mine have been excellent, for example.

The part I'm unclear about is whether I can offer copies at cost to people via DTRPG.

On Lulu I can offer something at a no-profit margin, which is perfect for handling Kickstarter rewards.  I'm just not sure if I can do the same thing on DTRPG.

For PDFs, I generally purchase from RPGnow but sometimes Steve Jackson's E23.  For POD, I use Lulu.

You can issue people coupon codes that let them buy a book at print cost plus about 60 cents. According to an email exchange a few days ago, you can also work with them directly to pass them a Kickstarter backer address list, pay up front for the printing and handling, and have the books sent directly to backers without any need for them to have a DTRPG account or pay anything up-front.

While I have a non-exclusive agreement with OBS just to allow myself flexibility, I could easily have gone exclusive with them without regret. My sales are vastly greater there than anywhere else and it's extremely easy to sell through them.

Depends. With Lulu I can use coupons, so I can buy it cheaper. But rpgnow/drivethru (they're the same, aren't they?) often offers POD and PDF deals (if you buy a POD book you get the PDF free), which is nice.

Regarding quality, I haven't had any problem.
