A spin-off of that other thread because I agree with Kellri, we really do not need to create a whole new game for a specific piece of media.
For example, the Firefly RPG sucks donkey balls, but a Firefly/Serenity splatbook for Mongoose Traveller would be awesome.
What would your choices be?
A Skaven supplement for Paranoia
A Twin Peaks supplement for Changeling: The Lost
A Farscape supplement for TSR D&D
A Jace and the Wheeled Warriors supplement for Marvel Superheroes
A Dungeons & Dragons cartoon supplement for D&D
A Galaxy High supplement for TFOS
A Get Smart supplement for Top Secret
A Hellboy supplement for Call of Cthulhu

What a fucking original idea.

If you have an original idea, please feel free to share it.
You know, like a
Planetes or a
Ghost in the Shell or New
Battlestar Galactica splatbook for
Mongoose Traveller.
A
Record of Lodoss War/Sword World RPG conversion splatbook for
Labyrinth Lord or other Basic D&D emulator.
An
X-Files splatbook for
Call of Cthulhu.

I am not sure that I agree.
Instead of tacking a supplement onto other, obsolete rules (I hate having to lug around more books than I really need) I prefer a streamlined adaption tailored for the genre/setting.
Like GoO's
Slayers d20 RPG.Like SJG's
Hellboy RPG, "powered by GURPS".

BRP went the complete game route with Stormbringer, Elfquest, Nephilim, etc.
CoC itself was its own standalone game, and not a supplement for RQ.
What would an alternate setting supplement for Earthdawn, Shadowrun, Warhammer FRP, or Nephilim even look like, all games that are deeply married to their respective settings?
I would be interested in
Earthsea or
Riddlemaster of Hed (or any other non-dark, non-gritty fantasy) for
WHFRP 1Lanfeust of the Stars for
Shadowrun 2Quote from: TristramEvans;676816A Farscape supplement for TSR D&D
How about a supplement to TSR's
Buck Rogers in the XXV Century? It's based on AD&D2 and has already spaceship rules.
QuoteA Dungeons & Dragons cartoon supplement for D&D
That I'd like to see as well, if only to see how the non-D&D elements translate to the rules. (Presto's way of casting spells, the dependancy on magic items - Sheila was a thief because of her cloak of invisibility, not because of any "class skills"...)
I didn't care for the pairing of GURPs and Hellboy. The system is too godly and baseline- normal human for me. Cthulhu ( and by extension the Basic System) has proven itself better at handling Pulp and the focus on investigation suits a BPRD - style game much better IMO. Heck, the last time I pitched a Hellboy game to my group I pretty much said " it's just like Call of Cthulhu, except instead of running away from or being driven insane by the monster when it reveals itself, you beat the crap out of it.
Not familiar with the Buck Rogers rpg, but does it have a cleric, magic user, thief, barbarian, and acrobat classes? Because Farscape did. It was quite literally D&D in space. You even got to watch the main character levelling up over the coarse of the series.
Aliens, Starship Troopers and Ringworld* all need to become splatbooks for Hero System+**.
...
* = not necessarily all of the "Known Space" series.
+ = 5e
** = because it's the most "generic, universal" system I (personally) know.
Oh yeah, a Last Starfighter supplement for weg's Star Wars or D6 Space would be the cat's pajamas. Better yet, a supplement amalgamating the worlds of TLSF and that of the Critters films would kick arse.
X-files, Fringe and Supernatural source books for Hero System and/or Conspiracy X.
Pacific Rim source book for Mekton
Marvel movieverse source book for Champsions/MHRP/Mutant and Masterminds
Hellboy/BPRD for Cinematic Unisystem.
I'd like a sourcebook for Edmond Hamilton's Captain Future. Two-Fisted Tales would be an interesting option for this. Vortex (Doctor Who, Primeval, Rocket Age) might also be fitting.
Fallout for BRP or Classic Unisystem (AFMBE).
Adventure Time for Gamma World 3e.
Homestuck for EABA
Logan's Run, 1984, Brazil, THX supplment for Paranoia (IE: a straight supplement)
Shaft (1971 movie) for Feng Shui.
Sword Art Online (television show) for Flying Swordsman D&D retroclone.

Or for DCC.
Well of Souls supplement for GURPS (Because the game was fairly hideous, except for the various parts they licensed from other companies).
I would like to see a big encyclopediac (<--real word?) Stephen King sourcebook for Call of Cthulhu/BRP.
Like you could devote a chapter each to Castle Rock, Derry and Jerusalem's Lot, providing maps, histories, npc's, notes on running games, plot seeds, etc.
A stats/bestiary chapter for various characters & monsters (Carrie, Christine, Roland, Flagg) plus tips on how to use various big bads (It, Tak, He Who Walks Behind The Rows)
A section on the Dark Tower and how to run games in it. A chapter on psychic powers & magic.
Lots of beautiful, original full color art.
I dunno. I'd buy it. :)

The same should be done for Dean Koontz, or you could do it in GURPS.
Firefly/Serenity could also work in GURPS.
Not sure what system would best fit
Harsh Realms.

That's a damn good idea, but I'd give Dark Tower it's own sourcebook.
On a similar note, I think a Clive Barker supplement for Unknown Armies would be keen.

:rotfl: I see what you did there.

Well OP asked for sourcebook, not an entire line. But we could work it your way too.
