In another thread discussing generic rules light-medium rpgs, Interlock Unlimited was mentioned a few times. Having no idea about this system, what can folks here say about it?
Originally created by Mike Pondsmith of R. Talsorian Games it is a basic D10 system, which uses a 1-10 scale for both stats and skills, which you add together and roll a d10 to get the end result. Which uses a difficulty scale based on those three factors. Interlock Unlimited is a fan based creation designed to keep this system active and has several differing modifications to suit it to whatever type of game you wish to use.
Arrrghhh! I went to the Interlock Unlimited site and it's one of those with a black background and bright (in this case light green) letters. I hate those sites! Screws the eyes too much.
Can anyone get the files from Datafortess2020 to download or for the registration to even work?

Nope. I hit up Wisdom00 to see how he is and if he can fix it. I will post more when I learn more.

Some web browsers let you turn off the colors.
Firefox View > Page Style > No Style may help.
Also Preferences > Content > Colors and always override the page's colors.
I've only experienced the original Interlock from CP2020. It's roll d10 + stat+ skill bonuses against a TN. it's been a while since I played, but I remember combat being very deadly, and that skill ratings definitely mattered more than luck of the dice. For char gen, the most innovative part was the life path tables.
It was deadly. You had to play smart or you'd get obliterated. Of course the point of guns is: guns can kill. So if you're going to get into firefights, you better try and plan your moves.
It used a health track: Four boxes for each category: Light, Serious, Critical, Mortal, Mortal 1, Mortal 2, Mortal 3 all the way to Mortal 6 - so 40 boxes. Your character's Body stat gave you a modifier to damage, by skimming a few points off of any damage that got through your armor. Anytime you take damage you need to make a Stun Save. Each stage beyond Light gives you a penalty of -1 until you get to Mortal. Once you get your damage track to Mortal - you're effectively rolling to not die from shock.
So let's say you're wearing ballistic soft armor with a rating of 18. And you get hit with single round from an old M16 (5.56 round) - it's 5d6 damage. So on average you're gonna soak that damage. The problem is if they do a three round burst, you're getting hit with 1-3 bullets. If they're going full-auto? You can get drilled by a LOT of bullets. You're rolling damage for each bullet separately. So yeah - it can get hairy fast. A 7.62-round will do 6d6+3 and eat your ass fast.
Top that off with AP and HE rounds... etc. Of course there are armors that can take some of that damage. It's a fast-paced game once you get a few conflicts in. There's not a lot to it.
So if your Body Stat is 7 (Average) your BTM is -2.
