Has anyone here heard of the Wayfarers RPG?
Anyone own it?
Anyone play it?

What do you think?

Page count is a little high for my taste, but that is one sweet-looking map.

I guess they're making the rounds, because the reason for my question is that I too have a copy I'm currently working on reviewing.

I checked out the demo.

It looks like something that might have interested me in 1989. Maybe.

Two decades later, I have all of this in various incarnations of D&D, as well as clones and knockoffs.

One thing I like about it is that unlike Imagine, Forge out of Chaos and other knockoffs, the game embraces its D&D influences. System, presentation and even writing style... there's a D&D vibe there.

There are other elements found in other old school games and classic fantasy games as well but nothing that screams "buy me".

As far as old school fantasy games, it looks superior to Forge out of Chaos, Imagine and those kind of games but a little less interesting than Epic Roleplaying or Ramlar.

Personally, I'd rather play D&D, Harnmaster or Runequest.
