Anyone know if the Ubiquity system is OGL/open/whatever? I know it's used in HEX and that Desolation fantasy rpg and I believe each is published b a separate company. (At least iirc.)

I don't know what the conditions of the license are, but Ubiquity was licensed for Desolation.
And here's another company with a license:

Quote9th October 2008 - TAG Secures Ubiquity License
Triple Ace Games (TAG) and Exile Game Studio (EGS) are pleased to announce that TAG's popular Daring Tales of Adventure line of pulp roleplaying game adventures are to be converted to EGS's widely-acclaimed Ubiquity Roleplaying System under a licensing agreement.
TAG's creative director and author of the Daring Tales line, Paul "Wiggy" Wade-Williams says, "As a fan of the Ubiquity system and Hollow Earth Expedition RPG, it's a great privilege to be working with Jeff Combos and the team at Exile Game Studio on this venture. I've been freelancing for a decade, but it's always a buzz to be able to work on one of your favourite systems. Our adventures are fast-paced, two-fisted tales designed to mimic the style and feel of the Saturday morning serials, so they're a great match for the Ubiquity system."
Robin Elliott, Production Director of TAG says "I am very excited by this oportunity to make our pulp adventures available to a whole new audience. We hope that the fans of the Ubiquity system enjoy these action tales as much as we have enjoyed creating them!"
"The Daring Tales perfectly capture the pulp vibe we imbued into Hollow Earth Expedition RPG, and it's great to be working with a company who understands the spirit of the genre," says Jeff Combos, President of Exile Games.
Four adventures will be bundled together in each set, with one set being released each quarter. The first release, containing Daring Tales #1-#4, will be released in January 2009 as a PDF product.
