Okay... tonight was a heartbreaker.
Our party inside consisted of 4 brave elves. Three of us are roleplaying Wild Elves of Noble Linage and also sharing kinship of brotherhood. We went down a long well like tunel via narrow stone steps and through a secret door in the wall we came to some long tight hallways.
These hallways provided us with undead to defeat on our last weekend there, restarting this weekend where we left off, healer out of heals. We opened a few doors finding gnolls and evil humans in great number. We defeated these but a bug bear ran off and alerted even more! Okay to make the story short we kicked the shit out of the hordes bad men and gnolls at great cost. Thinking it safe to loot the bug bear reared its ugly head and threw its mace! Killing the youngest brother of the elvish royal family tragically! We slew the bugbear and fled the scene after listening and hearing a mob behind us.
Arriving very hurt and very emotionally wounded back to the evil town of Nulb, we broke apart our gatherings from the depths and were bashed in upon suddenly by the town mercenary league, who wanted our share!
Outnumbered and wounded we gave 300g to them and tried to leave, but we were told to drop our weapons and be taken prisoner. A very close and bloody battle ensued, leaving this bunch of mercaneros very dead and our surviving party of three still amazingly alive and on the run back to Hamlet.
I sense a lot of revenge in the future of the three surviving elves.
And then there were two...

Depends on if the slain elf was one of the brothers.

Yes the youngest of the Royal House of Ralpar. As oldest brother (IC) I feel responsible and even more dour.
The evil town of Nulb will be on the Revenga!!! list for a moment. My chars first vendetta!
Do it! Do the whole effing village! *evil grin*

Thats the way the Dink laughs... your quote was awesome!
This last weekend was a real population hike for the graveyard. Okay here goes...
Game began with one of our estranged party members, a wild elf we dubbed "Thrice-Removed"... a very meek and sneaky Ralpar cousin, trying to join back up with the main group believed to still be inside of the temple. (If you read my last news you will know we were not inside and can see what happened there)
Entering the temple alone it didnt take long for 10 Giant Rats to eat him. Death... Plop...
So as the main party in Hamlet licked their wounds, without a healer(who got sick IRL and did NOT SHOW!), two new recruits made their way into the social circle of the living Brothers Ralpar. Ruros and Ganth. The royal siblings of the House Ralpar, met and recruited Gnome fighter Ziggypopp and Elf wizard Skinner(his real name I do not remember). Both new heroes were eager to go inside the temple.
On stipulation of no heals we entered and dropped down the well to the bottom floor after a small discussion of no-priest = no turns lead us away from our usual hidden door to the a chain or corridors we traveled last week.
The bottom floor revealed nothing but a crystal dagger on a raised platform and some steps leading in all direction. After the evil ghost wraith was awoken, the gnome screamed in terror realizing that his swift grab of the crystal dagger had been responsible for this dilema! In a shriek of panic the oldest Ralpar brother said "We have no Magic Weapons!" as he already was booking up the rope to the main level of the temple.
In short the Brothers Ralpar climbed out in hurried flight, but to their horror the two new recruits fell in the horrible darkness below never making it out of the depths of the Temple of Elemental Evil.
(Roleplayer Shawn died first to rats then he made the gnome who picked up the crystal dagger... tough call thief)
And the Temple's Legend Grows

Man there were some evil runes on the front door, when people read them they grew very terrified and bothered by the place. I got a cloak and walked with it stretched out before me like a map, and attempted to cover it up.... only to end up taking a spell save and failing anyways lol...
thought I was getting one over on the Temple for a second
Like Snapple, this is good stuff! Keep it up, please. :)

1E is really exciting!

Sure is. Even scarier if you do not fudge hp rolls, and die at 0 hp.
Death at -10 is an optional rule.

Ah but as an option death isn't necessarily ... necessary! It can be blinding or maiming, too! :)

Our DM rocks and socks at 0... no -10 hp...
I dont mind it though... forces you to book it sometimes lol
Once again Our cleric (Asheron) rejoined us last weekend as well as two followers of Hieroneous (pally Adrian and cleric MooShoo I believe). We left the Welcome Wench and set off for
the lower depths of the Temple of Elemental Evils. The Brothers Ralpar (Rurous and Ganth) lead the party into the darkness soon finding a nest of Ghouls. All those able to turn failed miserably ending up with the death of our original healer taking a wicked ghoul bite to the face. We pressed on anyways and met up with trolls and other undead. We slew most of these and went a great ways around the corridors and hallways of the dark dungeon. We encountered the Troll Lord Oolgrith, who we swiftly satisfied with gifts of the dead healers Holy Symbol, a "magik" hat, and "magik" sword. Then we footed it out quickly as resting inside the foul place is nigh impossible!
Outside we were met with more thieves and gold hungry mercs from Nulb! Drat that place! We made a great stand and narrowly won with all members in tact. We carried the body of our friend for burial with us back to Hamlet.
When we returned to the Wench, only to have the body of our deceased friend to spring to life with ghoulish fevor! Our living Cleric (Moosho) turned the corpse and the animated body of our friend escaped into the night.
We recruited a new caster type as well...

Its funny the shit you forget... I shoulda remembered at least OOC that ghoul-fever comes from a bite... wont forget it IC again now
This last weekend brought in some old friends who wanted to game doubling our party size to almost 8 I believe... I wont go thru all the names and classes but I will give the account of the weekends play...
We recruited fresh recruits from The Wench and returned down the well at the Temple. We had a very decent time down inside... we had alot more arms and shields this time... so it wassent nearly as horrific. Undead and Bugbears, even a troll or two was ousted from its dark lair.
(out of character our Healer and buddy got home from work so we in party left to get him from his room at the Wench)
In Hamlet we decided to sell off excessive weights. I (Ruros Ralpar, Warrior Elf) went to the traders and sold off some armors and crap I had stashed in my bags. I told the traders that the loot came from the temple. They acted upset and odd so I left.
Our newly recruited thief (Fullion Rapier) stepped inside with a red cloak he had found in the temple eager to sell. No one saw him leave our party or enter the building so Im talking about the "unseen scene" here. The traders quickly locked the door and stabbed him to death with a poisoned dagger when they saw the red robe of the temple...
We ended there...
Hehehe... Gremag and Rannos are evil bastards!
This is quite the instructive AP report.
