I got this idea off rpg.net, and I actually posted this thread there first. But I would like to open it up to this community as well. Inspiration was in a story hour, the god Gygax was beseeched for aid in turning some undead. Someone commented about using all the major people who influenced D&D in some way (for good or ill) as a pantheon. I got to thinking it was a cool idea, so I started this. I've added some of the additions and comments from the Big Purple already to this thread. But I'd like to hear your input as well.
List the Name of the God, its sphere of influence and its Alignment. I'll update this main post from time to time.
First up, the pantheon of Law
Gygax: Master of Dungeons, Chief among Gods
Arneson: The Egg. Creator of the World
Holmes: The Law Giver
Moldvay: The Builder
Mentzer: God of Learning and Knowledge
Cook: Two-Headed God of Rebirth
Neutral Pantheon
Ward: God of Mutation and Change
Elmore: God of Art and Beauty
Caldwell: God of Gems and Jewelry
Easley: God of Ochre and Orange
Dee: God of Heroism
Otus: God of Illusion and Dreams, Herald of the Old Ones
Sutherland: The Crusader, God of Justice. Paladin of the Gods
Jaquays: Goddess of Duality and Twisting Paths.
Trampier: The Hidden God
Foglio: The God of Humor and Sex
Darlene: The Cartographer, Goddess(God?) of Maps
Chaotic Pantheon
Lorraine: Goddess of Pride, Enmity and Greed
Chick: Madness, Hatred, and Zealotry
Pulling: Goddess of Ignorance, the Sower of Hysteria
Blume: the Two-Headed God of Trickery and Lies
Falwell: The Toad God of Deceit
Maybe it's just because I know her personally, but I feel like Jennell Jaquays has a place, between her great early Judges' Guild work and her time at TSR several years later.
Not much is known about Djakwa'ys, the Goddess of Twisting Paths. Her cult is secretive and obfuscatory, with layer upon layer of mystery rites, obfuscatory professions of faith that are rejected later on, and dueling heresies that higher initiates only know to be the same cult under different guises. This misdirection and deceit are in fact a central part of her worship.
Chaotic Pantheon:
Blume- the two headed god of trickery and deceit.
Holmes is the god of learning and knowledge.
Ward is the god of mutation.
Chick is the god of madness and zealotry.

Otus, the god of nightmares and psychotropic substances.
JaMal - God of swindles
(sorry...)
Gore - The goddess of propaganda and lies.
Sorry I haven't been around to keep this updated. School is back in session, so I've been busy.
I've actually posted this on 3 forums, so I am trying to consolidate all the great suggestions. A lot of duplicates, but I've tried to work in the best.
Keep the suggestions coming!
Seriously? This is one of the dumbest threads I've ever seen.

It's not any sillier than some of the (very bad lol) puns that got inserted in TSR products over the years. :D

Its kind of goofy, but the source thread over at TBP that inspired it is made of pure win. :)
A guy is posting play reports of his group as they run through a random dungeons campaign of mostly by the book B/X.
Characters die off left and right, and are replaced and the game moves on. Once you get into the thread, you can't help cheering for this team of misfits.
Anyway, in that game world, the game designers of TSR are invoked as deities.
I wish he would cross post his play reports here.
