Title: The Emperor's New Clothes (a variant)
Post by: Whitewings on July 09, 2016, 12:05:38 PM
In a setting where such things are actually possible, someone creates a cloak of an enchanted material which is tangible to everyone, but entirely transparent to anyone lacking sufficient intellectual power and personal capability (in Exalted, Int 3+ and at least one Ability rated 3+. In d20, Int 13 and at least a +5 rating in at least two skills. In other systems, similar requirements would apply). The weaver of the cloak then presents it to a person of high standing, such a duke or a king. What use might the recipient find for such a gift?

- you dress a beautiful girl/male/shapeshifter who senses sexual preferences of a target person in such a clothing
- you make her/him/it serve drinks while you interview a person for some specific position
- if this person converses with you like nothing's happening, you have a new employee - whether it's intelligence or the ability to keep cool, it's a fine addition to your organization

Will that do?

I like that one.
