We know there's spies in Star Wars of course.
What I'm wondering is if any of the sourcebooks for SWD6 got into the nitty gritty of espionage in the Star Wars universe.
I'm toying with a character idea inspired by Michael Westin from Burn Notice, and would love a little more background inspiration.
The only ones I remember even touching espionage were the Rebel Alliance sourcebook, and Imperial Sourcebook. The Rebel Alliance sourcebook was more useful, as it described more what PC's would be doing, where as the Imperial sourcebook gave a PG-13 version of Nazi propaganda and interrogation.
The SpecForce sourcebook might have some good info, despite dealing more with SEAL/Ranger/Recon units, but it's damn hard to find.
Imperial Intelligence definitely exists. It is used to great effect in the SWTOR MMO.
The Imperial sourcebook has some mention of it, but not a lot. Imperial Intelligence gets 16 pages, their rival bureau, the ISB gets 2.
I'd have a look at Darkness Visible. It's a sci-fi espionage source book for Star Without Numbers and it's pack with cool tools for the GM to use.
Would you get a bonus or penalty for playing a Bothan?

Bonus, but you die at the end of every mission.
I don't recall owning any, but I thought there was one out there... Looking at the list of Galaxy Guides has me coming up short, though.
I'd go ask over at the Rancor Pit, if you haven't already.
The Big Book of Bothans?

I have to laugh, because I just finished a campaign where I used my old Bothan Crimelord PC (info merchant/hacker), and made him the sympathetic villain BBEG (he engaged in mass murder (bio-weapons), trying to end the GCW, by killing all clones).

You might try getting a hold of Galaxy of Intrigue for the Saga edition and Gry Sarth's D6 conversion PDF from Rancor Pit (http://www.4shared.com/office/bXLCvYjI/Star_Wars_D6_-_Conversion_-_Ga.htm).

First game session was today, and went very well.
I am playing an ex-Imperial spy who was blacklisted, basically ripping off the Michael Westen concept, and my girlfriend is playing a Twi'lek who was a former asset of mine.
Talked my way past the customs officials on Ord Mantell by playing a Tattooine hick with a gambling problem, then wound up making first contact with a fixer who runs sex tours, and we soon developed a plan to user my Twi'lek friend as bait to lead us to the local slaver ring and hopefully get them busted by the planetary authorities. Next session I'll be meeting an old contact in the hopes I can talk him into lending some muscle to the operation.
It's fun as hell, and makes me more and more happy I'm going with both the system and the concept behind my new game.
