This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Supernatural RPG?

On RPG Haven podcast #6 I think Simon Washbourne mentioned he's working on his own Supernatural RPG. Of course it could be a little while before it's ready.

If that's what it sounded like, it's not what I meant. I thought I said that I'd been running a Supernatural-based game using my own system before the official RPG came out. Although I now have the Supernatural RPG (and I like it a lot) I will continue running my game with my own system. I will now be able to use plot hooks and stuff from the official rulebook though. I'm not actually planning on doing anything with the system other than using it for my own gaming group (although it does work darned well!).

I apologize for the badly informed post. Sorry.

Hey, no worries. I probably wasn't very clear. I'm not a great talker.

I posted this in an other thread, but since it fits this one I figured I'd diump it here as well.  Shortly after this thread I started working on a D6 version of Supernatural to replace the Savage Worlds one I was using.  Here is the finished product if anyone cares.  Any comments and feedback are welcomed, as this won't go into effect with my group till next session:

Before you delve into it be warned, I've made a LOT of changes to the core D6 system.

-Concise: I cut out a LOT of stuff I didn't think was necessary and would slow the game down. I tried to (extremely) streamline the game to the simplest form possible and dropped all the overly complex stuff I didn't' think I needed.

-I dropped the wild die. Topped out skills at 10D+2. And any untrained skill defaults to its linked attribute -1D.

-Body Points are used and wounds dropped.

-Character and Fate points are gone (well, CP are still there for character advancement) and instead I implement Story Points.

-Advantages and Disadvantages are totally changed.

I know not everyone will agree with some (or all) of these things (especially my treatment of firearms), but different strokes for different folks. I'd love to hear what people think and maybe this document will be useful to someone else looking to run a Supernatural based game.

Wow, Supernatural D6 is really cool! Thanks for sharing.
New! Cyberblues City - like cyberpunk, only more mellow. Free, fully illustrated roleplaying game based on the Fudge system
Bounty Hunters of the Atomic Wastelands, a post-apocalyptic western game based on Fate. It\'s simple, it\'s free and it\'s in colour!

Thanks! :)  Don't print it out yet though, I'm atually "revising" it as we speak.  Taking out a lot of little typos and correcting a few things I changes as I worked on fine tuning the rules.

I'll post when I have the new one up and ready.

I'm actually thinking of making a website just for this, my campaign journal, all the adventures I'm running, and bios on all the characters and NPCs.  It could also be a place for others to contribute if they wanted (creature stats, thier own adventures, ect.)...but that's a lot of work and I'm not sure if I want to commit right now.

Hey folks, I got a chance to edit the file today.

I think I fixed most of the typos and changed a number of small discrepancies.  There where a few things I changed or deleted as I went and then didn't go back and fix in previous parts of the text.

I also added a number of small shaded sidebars that summarize some of the game mechanics for quick reference during play.

The now file is here, the old one has been deleted:

Good stuff, grubman old chap. d6 is something I have been wanting to get back to. And Supernatural, that's just the icing on the cake.

Cool.  I hope some people get some use out of it.  I write a LOT of stuff that just sits on my desktop (of course, this one I'll be using for the next year at least), or gets deleated after I use it.  I'm glad I decided to share this because it seems like there are already a few people enjoying it. :)
