Title: Starting MegaTraveller
Post by: TheAsimovian on September 09, 2021, 11:17:48 AM
It has been many years since I played/GMed MegaTraveller and I now have a hankering to take the box and books off of the shelves and see how it goes (if anyone in my area wants to play). There's always a lot of chat on boards about the first D&D module you should play [Mines of Bloodstone, obviously!], but little about what published MegaTraveller (or even basic Traveller) adventure should be up first.

So, if you were starting an M.Trav game, what would be your first adventure module to get the group into the game and the setting?

The Early Adventures from Megatraveller Journal by Digest Group. It may be a bit hard to find, but it is a mini campaign all in one.

Megatraveller didn't really grip me as a system, but the Digest Group material was great. Probably the very best part was the cinematic nugget adventure format. I may be lukewarm about the rest of the rules, but that was a Godsend. I sent it as an attachment.

(Also, come to think of it, send me an email address and I can send you some more Megatraveller stuff, like the Consolidated Errata List for Megatraveller.)

That's very kind, but I'm pretty sure I have all the Digest Group MT stuff somewhere. Time to venture into the depths of the attic, brave the spiders, and see if I can find that box!
