Thought I'd cross-post this here, see if there's interest:
I mentioned this on my site, but Stack Exchange is a Q&A site that has a strong reputation system for users. They are trying to start a Role-Playing Games group over there. I honestly have no idea if it'll be worth a crap, but I thought I'd check it out. If anyone wants to join me, here's the referral code:

You actually have a certain amount of people sign up and commit to being an active part of the site for 3 months before it goes into an actual Beta. Basically, it's a threshold of potential interest that has to be met. I guess we'll see if they manage or not.
Basically, think Yahoo! Answers for gamers. We'll see how it goes...

On a more serious note, the Stack Exchange Q&A setup is very good and the reputation system does a good job of keeping the signal to noise ratio up. One key element is that the more reputation you have the more privileges you have on the site including moderator status. It is not easy to earn that privilege.
