Title: [Shadowrun] Shadows of Latin America
Post by: JongWK on May 23, 2010, 03:43:09 PM
Some of you might remember that SoLA was set to be released for SR3, but got stuck in development hell for years. We, the writers, didn't release the drafts before because Plan B was to release it as a PDF for the Holostreets website (think Battlecorps for Shadowrun). However, Catalyst's Jason Hardy has cancelled this plan, so we're now releasing the drafts as fan material. A complete release of the drafts in a single PDF is in the works. Enjoy!

Argentina (http://www.box.net/shared/iaz12cuqxg), by Peter Taylor (Synner).
Aztlan and Caribbean League (http://www.box.net/shared/jizz0em6fu), by Jason Levine (Demonseed Elite).
French Guiana (http://www.box.net/shared/467shbmtzu), by Robert Derie (Ancient History).
Panama Pan-Corporate Zone (http://www.box.net/shared/ge9gzb1ius), Bolivia (http://www.box.net/shared/vv7s3hg04d), Caracas (http://www.box.net/shared/3x2e9fb5sq), and Crime in Latin America (http://www.box.net/shared/pke1n6dyts) by Jong-Won Kim (JongWK).
Peru (http://www.box.net/shared/m2xvcx52ca), by José Barbe and Hugo Medina.
Feel free to use them for non-commercial purposes. I will update this post when more drafts become available.

Sweet.

And best of all, now when I read the book (PDF) and go

"you know, Spike, some of the book was balls out awesome, but serious, what was the author thinking when he wrote that awful and trite bit about Caracas?"

I'll be able to answer myself.

"Well, Spike, you know that the cool shit was written by some other dude actually. that awful caracas section? Yeah, that was that simpleton, JongWK. Ugh."

I kid. I haven't read any of it yet.  But I DO talk to myself like that. If I didn't use my own name I'd lose track of who I responding to, and that just gets bad...

By the way, I just added Peru to the list. Many, many thanks to both Pepe and Hugo!

The links all seem to be dead.

Edit, now they seem to work.

Thanks. I wish SoLA had had a different fate, but releasing it into the wild for free isn't the worst outcome either.

I'd forgotten about releasing my Crime section. It's part of a bigger chapter that also includes corporations and surviving in the green hell, but those two were written by other authors.
