Can someone tell me about the racial modifiers for playing a duck in RuneQuest? I don't own a copy of any version of that game, but I want to do up an anthropomorphic duck for my Encounter Critical module.
Runequest ducks, but Hero 5th doesn't - bullets can't penetrate it.

From Mongoose RQ:
STR 2D6+3
CON 2D6+6
DEX 2D6+6
SIZ 1D6+6
INT 2D6+6
POW 3D6
CHA 2D6
Hope that helps! If you're keen to know how ducks shape up in RQ2 or III, just let me know and I can transcribe tomorrow - the books are upstairs, and so is my sleeping gf!

If the earlier editions are different I'd appreciate the info. RQ 1 or 2 would be ideal.
Not to steal Quire's thunder (but, dude, I'm totally stealing it!), here's the stats from my copy of RQII:
STR 2D6+1
CON 2D6+6
DEX 2D6+6
SIZ 1D6+2
INT 3D6
POW 3D6
CHA 2D6
Sling 30%
Short Sword 30% (Parry 30%)
Small Shield (Parry 30%)
And RQIII says the same thing, only with the less-potentially-retarded INT=2d6+6. It seems that Mongoose decided that they needed to beef up their ducks some with greater strength and larger size, which I think completely misses the point of playing a duck.

Duck? Like Howard the Duck? I would suggest a re-watch just to make sure you want to do that :)
Dude. Seriously. There are no electric guitars in Glorantha. Axes, yes, but no electric guitars.

That was always my opinion of ducks back when I played RQ3 heavily. :D

The movie should never be the first thing one thinks of when Howard the Duck is mentioned. His comic, especially the original run, is pretty good, and shows him in a lot of different genre situations. One of my favorite comic characters. Too bad that piece of shit movie is the only thing most people remember.
There is no thunder left to steal apparently  but if you want to see some pre-rolled examples of RQ ducks without locating an old RQII or III book, Mongoose published a scenario featuring ducks for MRQ in their free online mag "Signs & Portents Roleplaying Edition #35". You can check it out on their website if you would like to see some of the critters in action (so to speak).
Yeah, that's one reason why Glorantha never excited me that much. If ducks are more interesting than elves...

QFT. I love RQ and have set adventures in Glorantha but I always lose the ducks and modify the elves. The RQ elves with wooden bones and looking like a anthromorphic weed just never did it for me. The trolls are cool though.
The ducks are awesome! I don't really want to use Glorantha, as I feel too invested in my own world, but I've been trying to figure out a way to use some ducks in my game.

I recommend an orange or plum sauce.

Ducks make great underdogs. So do baboons. And newtlings. Glorantha has a number of great little-shits that can be stolen for other games.
