SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: HalfjackThey should all watch Fred Hicks -- he knows his shit on this topic.  By which I mean he sells the games without looking like a shill.  He's a real and enthusiastic participant without getting either salesmanoid or defensive.  He sold me.  Hell he sold me on games he hasn't even written yet.

Yeah, Fred does it better than anyone else.  He joins threads on his games and leaves making people excited or pleased rather than irritated - something a lot of authors can't do.  His LiveJournal updates are often interesting and keep his and his friends projects in the public consciousness.

Cynthia Celeste Miller and S John Ross also do really good online marketing, they promote their stuff aggressively but not pushily if that makes sense and add value and humour while they do so.

They're both, in quite different ways, great examples of how to do this stuff without becoming a pain but while still getting across their message.

Of course, Cynthia, S John and Fred all have quality products, which may be a factor.

A silly question.

Who's Fred Kicks? What games has he done? A link, please?

Thank you.
Grając zaś w grę komputerową, być może zdarzyło się wam zapragnąć zejść z wyznaczonej przez autorów ścieżki i, miast zabić smoka i ożenić się z księżniczką, zabić księżniczkę i ożenić się ze smokiem.

Not silly at all.  I was wondering the same thing.  Pen & Paper doesn't seem to have a listing for him.  A little googling turned up that he is a member of Evil Hat Productions, which publishes Don't Rest Your Head, Spirit of the Century, and Fate.
