I hadn't seen the Hillary Clinton Paladin until now...

Jesus wept.

To be perfectly honest, some clever trolling by a few resident posters elevated this fucking stupidity to at least page 10 news. That's not bad.

Is that paladin really official D&D 2024 art? Where does it come from? :D

"Mordenkainen didn't kill himself."

Yes, its official. It was one of many illustrations from the upcoming PHB that were shared on Twitter.

Makes me even more glad about my choice not to buy those books.

My goal of playing a Granny Pally in Depends while collecting Social Security Gold Coins is now complete. I can have her retire in the Old Adventuring home for a rousing game of Bingo with Bugbears, Shuffleboard with Sahugain, and a nice Owlbear Ovaltine before bed at 530pm.

How far we've progressed!

The white streak in her hair reminds me more of Tulsi Gabbard.

It's a shame that Troll Lord Games didn't think of getting Otus, Elmore, Caldwell and Parkinson to the cover artwork and interior artwork of their new C&C book while they are alive and able to create art.  It would have been a very good counterpoint and would have launched their sales.

Keith Parkinson died back in 2005. The others are still with us.

Elmore, Easley, and Caldwell would be the go-to as they are all still alive.

Otus's style would clash heavily.

The main issue being that they would all be Very Expensive at this point. Most likely far beyond the means of TLG to pay them and still be profitable.

If I had unlimited money to indulge in nostalgia: I'd want Jeff Easley as my head artist and art director. I feel his art is a bit more dynamic than Elmore and Caldwell. I'd then search for 2 other artists that can draw in Easley's style. I'd hire the lot, and have them do all the artwork for my fantasy RPG line.

But to be honest, there are lots of fantastic artists out there, they are just all working as concept artists in the film and video game industry. The hard truth is that even with Magic money filling their coffers, Wotc cheaps out on their art, and it shows.
