Most of my RPG material is posted to mailing lists and boards like these. Several people have contacted me and asked for stuff that is hard to locate, so I wanted to make a central repository for all the old stuff, as well as ongoing new stuff.
Advice time!
What gaming blogs do it right—have tasteful themes, transparent navigation, accessible archives, and all that?
What blogging platforms are well done, i.e. easy to use, with tasteful themes, integrated comments, and integrated subject tags?
What advice do those gaming bloggers among us have for people starting out?
(Note: This blog isn't for gaining readers, but for posting and archiving of gaming posts, to make them accessible to the micro-audience interested. It's a boutique blog, and that's alright.)
Blogs setup expectations that you will be posting with regularity. If you have lots of stuff, set up a fan site with lots of goodies up front and explain that you will be adding stuff weekly / monthly / quarterly / randomly depending on what you can realistically commit.
The problem on the web is that there's not much separating the appearance of a full time salaried blogger with decades of writing experience versus any given amateur fan blog. Thus, the expectations of readers can become skewed and the inevitable butthurt demons arise!
Check our club blog out, it's got a lot of material on it that we reference regularly.

Well you're certainly the best Canadian/Uruguayan RPG blogger, that's for sure.

That's solid advice, thanks.
So, I've taken the plunge:
Jasyn's
House of Gaming (http://daddywarpig.wordpress.com/): An eclectic collection of RPG material, posted at random intervals.
Right now, there's just a handful of posts, but as I troll through my back catalog, I'll be expanding rapidly (2-3 posts a day). New stuff, on the other hand, will be posted at random intervals.
Comments and criticism are — as always — welcome.
Some dude got blog of the month from this site: http://worldofortix.blogspot.com/2012/09/blog-of-month-ancient-vaults-eldritch.html (http://worldofortix.blogspot.com/2012/09/blog-of-month-ancient-vaults-eldritch.html)
:)
I think bat's blog is the best on the scene, frankly, and have pointed others to it since I first found it. It's a never ending stream of new stuff to use in your game that is presented in a great way.
Thank you much, EOTB! I just try to give something to the community, grab something, tweak it to fit your game, make an item a spell or vise-versa. It is fun to do and when I tried to quit I couldn't stop.
You two guys are precious.
Welcome to the Pit.
I really like The Dungeon Dozen (http://roll1d12.blogspot.com/). It's a very focused blog that just gives you lists and lists of random encounters.

Spot on! Good call.

Somehow that sounds a bit Onimous.
(yeah, I know it is spelled wrong...)
Don't just stick to the major blogs. Many of us have smaller ones that we'll post on in spurts and some good ideas pop up. It's worth the quick browsing for the gems.
Good point. I rarely read the big dogs anymore and I get left behind on all of the tangents and rants and such. I had to be pointed here to the Dwimmermount thread because I have gotten so far out of the loop.
But I read a lot of great gaming blogs.

Well, that's just a given.
