This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So... how easily can the alien stuff be removed from the system?  Does it function relatively well as a spy game?

Spike

It's unisystem, so it's more generic. Either way, the alien stuff is strictly add ons to the main portion of the game, rather like running D&D without orc. You just don't use them if you don't want.

I rather suspect it would make a more than decent spy game, but not one tied to any genre... just, you know, spies. Mostly american
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

Yeah, the alien stuff's not all that hard to remove if you just want a spy game.  A few profession packages here and there (Alien Abductee, Project Moondust, etc.) and the aliens themselves and their ultra-tech.  Since they're mainly gribblies anyway, as Spike said it's just like removing orcs from D&D.

Thanks guys... I might check it out if I can find a second hand copy.

I note that all of Eden's websites are currently down... have they gone under?

Eden just occasionally has website troubles.  I'd check back regularly as they're usually down for no more than a day.

It's very easy to remove and use as a general spy game.  Actually, 2.0 has very little supernatural material in general - one of the things I found disappointing about it.

I have a review up at RPG.net if you're interested.
