Silverlion

This is the potential game I'm planning (based on a previous attempt using BESM but improved and refined)The basic ideas are flight school mixed with adventuring school motif found in several fictional series dropped into anime lensed blender and turned on low until smooth.

Majestic Wing Excelsior

Legends of knights atop magical beasts backs go back into the ages before the Skyfall, of heroes tall and true and the mounts of reknown they rode into battle. Dragon's, Gryphons, even Giant Proto-Slime riding Knights were known.

In that vein a few decades ago, an adventuring troupe found a clutch of gryphon eggs under the remains of a dead gryphon who'd given her life to stave off some terrible beast. The troupe took the eggs, and raised the chicks to adulthood as they wandered the land.

Rumors began of them being "Knights" like the old era ones, honorable, true. From time to time gryphon riding members would rescue a maiden from rampaging and randy satyr's, or capture the hearts of many flying letters across the vernia laden skies. The Gryphon Knights became formalized however ten years ago--and oppenned a school. Its been quiet, a few Gryphon Riders join their ranks in the meantime, and their first generation Gryphon raised families at their castle on Mount Cloudfang.

Then they were attacked in a feirce magical battle ensued against unseen yet powerful magical forces. Their long standing Mage Vaezor used his power to heft the entire fortress of Skyhome into the air, and land it gently onto a large passing vernia. Here is the new Skyhome for the Gryphon-Knights--the few the proud and honored heroes who join together in a Majestic Wing.

Gryphon-Knight serve as a heroic adventuring troupe, as well as messengers (like the Pony Express but with much better mounts)

Vernia: Flying Rock Islands that orbit Uresia.

Skyfall: The end of the war of Gods that left Uresia a mostly godless land, where fate is up to the men and women and slimes of its lands and not grand deities.

Nations and Peoples (shorthands)

Celar:
Honorbound and rough, some say drinking is their favored sport, yet it seems the truth is more brawling and fencing, with drinking a close third. They wear a lot of leather and scars are marks of honor.

Dreed:
Casually ruled by Timberfell the lusty, they have a thribing food culture (and thus sporting chefs) as well as serious mining work for emeralds.

Elu Islands

Ports for pirates, cutthroats, and other n'e'r-do wells.

Helt and Lochria:

Lands of he beast men from the dogheaded Adlet (Kobolds), to the feline Creesh, and beyond including the Minotaurs, varied of culture as they are varied of forms.

-Coatestown: Once a Satyr city laden with pleasurefilled pursuits it was nearly destroyed by a dragon plague that descended upon it after an earthquake--the dragons after a year of occupation, an drawing in dragon hunters of all sorts (mostly soon to be dead ones) returned to their caves leaving the city and its spirit damage, but not yet destroyed.

Rinden

Classic fantasy country ruled by King Argalt, lots of debate from his free flowing court, and lots of power between King and Clergy who stand in memory of gods with their clout. Home to Emerald Knights and their mighty mystic powered armaments that stomp across the land, and the Lyric Brotherhood.

Sindra
Wizard ruled landscape known for flashy duels of magic, the disdain of its neighbors for having flagrantly violated the basic truth that wizards should serve rulers not BE them, Sindra has its own knightly order: the Loreseekers.

Winnow
A peaceful Rindanland like landscape outwardly much like its neighbours, except in the recent past one of its ruling nobles took up demonology and with the influence of her "sewing circle" she and many other noble-persons begat something. Not terrible begetting all told: They had children mostly children with "demon" like fathers, but a few with demon mothers too--the children of Winnow not JUST its nobles may not be entirely human, but they eat, drink and live just like any others
but with wings and horns, and hooves, and whatever other fun traits demons tend to wander around wearing.

Yem
Cold, dark rocky and snow filled, known for the icy cool chill of death that Necromancers brought to "life" within the landscape, snowmen and other ice life comes from the unresting spirits that wander
and take the closest forms they can.

Birah
A land seemingly safe and secure except for a few times a year that Great Beasts claim what they wish. Otherwise it is fruitful and guarded--perhaps by the Elves, or the secrets of the Great Beasts. The elves have secrets though ones they speak to no one of...

Troll-Lands
Magic pales on the rim, perhaps where the gods were ripped from the world, here Trolls and other things stranger things, wonder, primative, and savage, but not necessarily uncalled for in those respects.

All races presented here for the OVA system are those able to be Gryphon Riding Knights--those that can't due to physical form limitations MAY appear as NPC's

I love it.  The section about delivery messages/packages is a built-in adventure generator

Silverlion

Thanks. It really is, I can think of so many serious as well as silly uses of that as 'adventure' seeds.

Plus of course rivals both in school and out, competitions, fun, friends. I love my foils (Like Teal who I think will be a good usable foil...for some time to come :) )

This is great! Now if only I could get players near an "Anime" campaign (I haven't able to do that since about the time BESM 2e came out, oddly).

Sell them Uresia as a standard fantasy setting then hit them with the combat eating, slimes, snowmen and magical catgirls when it's too late

Edit: Silverlion If you get stuck for ideas, watch a couple of episodes of Futurama and rip off delivery missions

*LOL* I love Futurama but its a bit sillier of tone than I'm aiming for (I'll let the game go where it will...)
