This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: BullittTrue20 is OGL. It would pretty much have to be since it's a modified version of D20. The True20 logo is not OGL. You have to go through Green Ronin if you want that to appear on your book, and Green Ronin is pretty tight with the license to use it.

Splendid. I shall definitely peruse the merits of this system. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

I want to try out True20.  With our tax money coming in, I'll be able to buy it and take a look at it.  :)

Quote from: BullittTrue20 is the shit. It is a total redesign and streamlining of D20, and working with it isn't like battering your head against a brick wall. I'm thinking of making it my primary game from here on out since regular D20 converts over so easily.

The only thing about it that I would change is I would use hit points instead of the system they have, but otherwise, it's a thing of beauty.

Well, crap.

I was starting to right off True20 as one of those elitist d20-hater things, based on the rabid fanboyism it seems to evoke.  I may actually have to take a look, now.

True 20 is very, very nice. Much more elegant than D20, and still crunchy.

Well, I just spent a couple hours pouring over the True20 rulebook and I am feeling some strongly mixed emotions. First it is a feeling of impressed joy... this system is absolutely fantastic. Everything is streamlined and far easier to understand and follow than D20. It's wonderful. The second feeling is that hollow, sinking feeling of despair you get when you realize the massive RPG setting you just finished could have been done far quicker and made far more elegant using True20 instead of D20 (what I used). I don't know whether to curse Bullitt for introducing me to this, or praise him for doing the same.

;)

Damn.  I was interested, but now I'm downright intrigued.  I guess I'll absolutely have to get this now.  :)

Maybe you can find a friend who has it so you can look at it first. I was very, very impressed with it.

I'd have to con one into buying it first.  It'd probably just be simpler to get my own copy.  Especially since it is now Blue Rose-free.  :)

Is it available as anything other than a PDF?  If not, and considering the PDF is only $12, I'm seriously thinking about picking it up and using it to run a PbP.  I think that would hopefully convince a few more people to check it out.

Hmm...might have answered my own question with this.

So I guess we're in waiting mode on this one.
