I'm making a random car chase generator and need some random stuff I can toss in. what I've got so far:
Turns: Left, right, U turn, travelling with or against the flow
Streets: One-way, two-way, with or without median, freeways, residentials, business district, tight, wide lanes, winding, hilly
Traffic: empty, light, medium, heavy, jammed
Random events: pedestrian, cross traffick, wreck ahead, police join the chase, car trouble for a participant
What else can I toss in?
Thanks.
Two guys walking across the street with a pane of glass.
Road construction.
Random debris on the road that will blow out tires (this might fit under the "car trouble" category).
Hmmm...if the hold music on the phone I'm on right now wasn't so horrible, I might be able to come up with more... :\
EDIT:
Helicopters join the chase (harder to hide)
Driving through the mall!
Road construction. Potholes. Bridge lifting due to untimely ferry passage. Lower Whacker Drive. News copter broadcasting the chase on live TV. Police copter. Oprah Winfrey. Biker gang. Train on railroad crossing. Circus parade. Pidgeons. Knocked-over fireplug spewing water. Ambulances and fire trucks. Funeral procession. Child following ball into street. Hot dog stand. Leprechauns.
Ah, wouldn't you know it, there's a site devoted to car chases:
http://www.varaces.com/
Might have some good idea nuggets.
The girlfriend and I watched all three Bourne movies over the past couple of weeks (first two on DVD, the last in the theater)...awesome car chases in those movies.
Street market... with obligatory fruit stand.

Hotrodders, Street racers, Hillbillies in jacked up muddin truck, Closed bridge, draw bridge, dirt road, uneven pavement, stop signs, yield signs, DUI road block, toll road, toll bridge, turnpike, rest stop, live stock in road, slow moving vehicle (Like farm tractor), stop sticks (spikes cops use to disable tires with), parking structure, and drunk driver. If I think of more I'll post them.
Just to name some classics that seem to be missing:
Freaking long trains crossing the street that could just be used to force your enemy to stand for two minutes or so while you drive away on the other side - if you are really daring.
Opening bascule bridge that could just be used as a ski jump - if you are really daring.
Crates and/or plastic furniture on the pavement (how boring had Blues Brothers been without them?).
Bird crap on windshield (more for colour than any actual effect).
Birds.
Can of paint from sign painter on ladder
Extreme weather situations (hail, downpour reducing visibility, extreme heat causing engine overheat, winds, etc.)
Car problems (passenger seat airbag accidently inflating, constant beeping from seatbelt warning, etc.)

I get that for Oprah Winfrey but the leprechauns go without comment?

Thanks everyone! The generator is being made now. A prototype (with very little in the way of random events) is here (http://www.colugo.org/jmcmurra/generators/chase.htm). I'll post when it's complete.
old lady with walker
one-way street
rickshaw
horse and buggy ride
over/underpass
tunnel
street that conventiently splits into a tunnel/overpass--so the bad guys think they got away until they come out the other end of the tunnel and the good guys jump the overpass to land behind them (description might have to be modified for a table).

Does anyone know a good website for car chase scenery pictures? I've tried google and yahoo images, but my picture search skills are poor.

Try http://www.webshots.com/ There's nothing specifically for car chases, but there are plenty of scenery pics if you do a little searching.

Thanks!

That a neat deal there. :)
Parades. Military vehicle transfers (I don't know if they do this in America, but I went to school in Kingston, and light armoured vehicles would be transferred between the military academy and the nearby military bases regularly using municipal roads). Animals, especially large ones like moose, elk and bears. Fallen trees. Bridges that raise and lower. Bridges that are "out". Tractor trailer trucks that have fallen over and spilt their load across the road.
