Gentlemen and Ladies,
First let me say I am aware this forum has a News & Adverts thread, but given the product in question has not come out yet, I choose to post here. My apologies to the Mods in advance in case I have made a mistake.
I have just sold my first gaming manuscript as a freelancer. A small affair, just a few pages long, for the new line of Traveller products Skortched Urf Studios is going to release.
The person in charge of the company liked what he saw enough to order a new one right away.
Forgive my lack of humility if I confess to be feeling above the clouds. I guess I'm a paid author now.
I know many here are published authors (some even self-published) or even the heads of gaming companies. I am not writing this in an attempt to claim a membership in some "club" or anything similar.
I simply want to share my happiness with you. It is a wonderful feeling when someone deems what you wrote is a good enough product to sell.
Congrats on the sale!
Go you!
Huzzah!
Classic, Mega or Mongoose?
That's awesome -- congratulations! I know I was over the moon this November when I was in a position to write cheques for all the VSCA authors for Q3. :D It really makes the process real, yeah?
Again, congrats, and thanks for sharing your enthusiasm.
Congratulations! It is, indeed, quite the thrill to get that first check. :)
As I guy who is still trying to get there...congratulations! I am genuinely happy for you.
Thank you for all your kind words. Your congratulations have touched me.
Phantom Black: It is for Mongoose Traveller.
Very cool! You must be on Cloud 9 just now! And there's always room for more Traveller products!
Cool! Congratulations!

Congrats man!!
Well done!
Awesome! Congratulations and may you recieve many, many more in the future!
Hey make no apologies or disclaimers.
You got something published and have a publisher clamoring for more, so go ahead and rock out with your bad self.
I'm always glad o see new game designers of any stripe with something to contribute to gaming.
Kudos!
So a traveller supplement by the company(now) who did low life? How cool off a project to break in on! Congratulations:)
Woot to you!

Ugh. Not good.
Just my oppinion, but MonT. seems dysfunct.
AFAIR it has massive glitches and bugs.
I'll add my voice to the chorus. It feels groovy when the first one comes in. Just make sure you count the dollars and cents carefully. ;)
Me Bizzaro say, "Go to hell; you bad writer!"
(ie. good going, dude)
Congratulations!
Congrats and many more!

 That's the only Traveller one can get paid for currently. Unless you happen to be MWM himself or write for SJG. Even MJD's effectively closed up Avenger and is only doing gaming work for Mongoose who at least pay him and take care of any wrangles with MWM. (update, no he's clear out of Traveller now (http://www.traveller.comstar-games.com)) Even though it's been far too publicly discussed and emo drama drawn out, I get why.
Besides it doesn't take much to use almost *any* Traveller stuff in any other Traveller system and MGT is more compatible than some. More Traveller stuff is a good thing and with the OGL / SRD you can make some beer money on it too.

That is correct. CT, MT and MGT are very cross-compatible. It's not an impossible task to run the classic CT adventures or MT's "Arrival vengeance" with MGT.
It is true, sadly, that the Mongoose version seems to suffer from the usual typos and editing problems the company has gotten us used to.
Thank you all once again for the support; I wasn't quite expecting such a level of enthusiastic answers. :o
Congratulations!
I like MGT. I think they stayed close to the original Classic Traveller vision for the main rules. The Pocket Rulebook is one of my best purchases of the past few years (tiny font, though!).
Congrats. I did some work for Skortched Urf a few years ago. Good guys to work with.
Yes, well done.
I still feel great satisfaction whenever I think of any of my own printed works.

Yeah I have to agree with everyone else and congratulations !
I liked working on Traveller but that was a different time but I do like to see new people getting involved and making a go of it :)
No need to apologize. Seeing your stuff in print is one of the most gratifying things a writer can achieve. It ranks right up there with positive feedback/reviews and my personal favorite --seeing artwork that depicts your writing in print.
Congrats!

Huzzah! :D
It is finally out. You can check the release blurb (http://www.therpgsite.com/showthread.php?t=16424) on this very forum.
Excelsior!

Sounds interesting. You should tell the publisher to consider purchasing banner ad space here!

That's a terrible ad spam I'm quoting. Someone should ban this guy. :D
Its not spam if its meant to help keep the site going.

Congratulations, the feeling you get from your first piece of published work is great-enjoy!
Congrats!!
My own first published piece/work for hire was for Traveller back in 1983.
I think it paid all of 18 bucks. But oh the bragging rights. ;)
Congratulations man!
Result! :hatsoff:
