If you guys really gave me this forum to do with as I wish; then what I wish is for people who aren't logged in to be able to read the threads therein.
There are a lot of people who have heard of the "Pistols at dawn" thread now, through my blog, Jrient's blog, and Levi's blog among other places, who weren't able to see what we're talking about by virtue of the fact that hte Pundit's Parlour requires you to sign in to be viewed.
I ask that the Nutkins change that immediately to be open for non-member viewing.

I'll toss it at the other Nutkins and see what is said. I wasn't even aware that they weren't visible to everyone. I can see them on all my accounts.
Both Levi and I have gotten multiple complaints from people, when we posted the links to our Blogs, that couldn't see the thread, because they're not members of Nutkinland. As much as I'd like to encourage everyone to join nutkinland, its just not acceptable to me that they should HAVE to become members to even be able to see what I'm talking about.
I also have some serious concerns about continuing this thread without ASSURANCES that when you guys decide you're bored of me having my own Forum you aren't just going to throw this thread into the trash. I want to know that when you shut down the Parlour you will transfer it to one of the permanent forums.

Be assured that we are planning on keeping the thread. Right now discussing on moving thread to regular forum as it will take care of both your concerns.

I'd be in favour of that; of course, then unless you made me a mod of the regular forum I couldn't make sure that no one else posted on that thread. In that case the nutkins would have to be in charge of keeping it between me and levi.

I'm more than willing to kill any post in that thread that isn't yours or levi's. that is a non-issue.
As hriem as said, we're discussing currently. You make valid points on all of these problems, and I think you'll be pleased with the result. However, please, be patient - we are all quite busy with our real (read: paying) lives.

I believe the objection is to the fact that you must register and then log in before you can see this forum. Since the discussion between Levi and RPGPundit may be of interest to people who may not want to register with NKL, it would be nice if the forum was visible to those who aren't logged in.
Some of my friends and readers are screened from joining a forum using their work computer, which is where they get their internet.
Others simply can't be arsed, of course.
Yup, like I said I actively encourage everyone to join NKL, but I know that not everyone is willing or able to, and they'd still want to read the thread, and should be able to. That thread in particular should be for public consumption.

I'm equally opposed to Xanga's policy against anonymous comment posts; though I understand why they do it. In any case ANYONE can read my blog (unlike the thread, and being able to READ the thread without getting a membership is what we're talking about here). And it is my personal policy that anyone who chooses to have a Xanga account can post a comment on my blog. I don't censor it.

The Nutkins were the ones who came up with the idea to try to make a joke out of giving me my own Forum on here. I didn't ask for it, and I still don't appreciate the humour in it.
In any case, they are being quite reasonable now, about fostering this thread of Levi's and mine; something that has found usefulness out of the joke. Good for them. As it stands, their reasonableness pretty much makes my blog comments dated.

Okay I moved the "Pistol's At Dawn" thread to the Role-Playing Games forum. I got sick and tired of listening to you guys whine.
I seriously considered nuking the entire thread along with both forums with you acting like an ungrateful prick. I told you we were discussing on how to handle it and that we would definitely be saving the thread. Might you even consider that it being Friday that many peopole wouldn't even be on.

Whoa, calm down there. I was being totally patient. Go back and read what I wrote on this thread. I wasn't in a hurry. The post on my blog was something I put up BEFORE I started this thread, and that Aelfinn is quoting out of context to try to make me look like more of an asshole than I am (which, frankly, I think is pretty unnecessary on his part). I've even been appreciating how reasonable you guys have been and noted that you have a clear interest in maintaining a thread that you guys also see the value of. You've done well here, and I don't know where you got the idea that I was either being either ungrateful or trying to hurry you guys along about this.

The context being the context of time; I wrote that before this thread was started (well, as I started this thread). It wasn't me being impatient with your guys' responses after the fact, it was me being uncertain of how seriously you would all take this, given your lack of taking anything seriously thus far. It was my concern that this site was really just seen by the Nutkins as one big source of jokes, and especially my forum and threads, so I was considering the chance that you guys would be unresponsive.
However, you have been very responsive, and have shown that Nutkinland can create a balance between pure jokery and serious threads. And for that I say: Thank you.

We squirrels take our fun very seriously. while the site
is one big source of jokes, it's also the one place where we come to relax and talk about the things that we find fun. Since we can share that fun with like minded individuals, we do. One of the reasons that we are not RPG.net or Enworld or the forge, or any other of the myriad gaming sites that exist, is that we always remember - It's about having fun.
These forums now have new names and their permissions have been reverted to their parent forum's (meaning visible to all, posting by members only).
Pundits have their animal mascot now - they are henceforth dubbed CRABS
