In about 90 minutes, at 8pm EST, I'll be doing a special Livestream on #dnd5e
Join me and join in on the debate!

5E is probably the very best WOTC edition; but 3E / 3.5 is right there at its heels. There was something really cool about 3rd edition, even if it was pretty dang crunchy.
I enjoyed the video. 5E is fine mechanically, but the SJW culture surrounding it definitely drove me to the OSR.
There's just as much SJW in the OSR. Like there's that rainbow version of the OSR logo. You have the SJW version of S&W made entirely by women (except you know, the actual text of the game) and a vagina on the cover (though I guess that's problematic these days, since apparently not all women have vaginas). And the single saving throw is clearly Marxist.

Yeah, I'm not really seeing much difference really. You get SJWs in both camps (not sure if they actually play games, but they certainly make noise). And the vast majority of both 5e & OSR players are apolitical. Unapproved pronoun usage will get you slapped at an OSR site just as likely as at a 5e site I think.
The main problem that I have with 5e is that it is too incoherent.

There is. But there is such an enormous variety of OSR material out there, the SJW stuff is easily avoidable. Particularly depending upon what flavor of OSR you choose. I like Basic Fantasy, and from what I've seen the SJW content in the official BFRPG books is zero. And I can use Basic Fantasy to run B/X adventures and Labyrinth Lord adventures, among others, the vast majority of which also have zero SJW content.
And the price of many OSR products is quite nice (as in, free, or dirt-cheap). So I'm not paying 40 bucks to have a WotC product extolling the virtues of crossdressing sitting on my bookshelf.

I think they've disowned that version. It's also my favorite version. Are those statements related? You be the judge. :)

I really liked the art in the PC character class section of that book. That was some very nice stuff. But otherwise I prefer the version with the Erol Otus cover.
This has turned out to be my most popular Livestream yet. In spite of being nearly 2 hours long!

Remind us which definition of "incoherent" you're using here? With 5 minutes of googling I can find various oblique GNS references and ages-old enworld threads which already assume the definition but nothing clear enough to respond to such a one-liner.
(EDIT) Or is my sarcasm detector failing again?

LOL!! That's awesome.
BTW, the comment section is very interesting. I hope ShadowCop75 is one of our forum members, or will become one. Here's (his or her) quote:
TL;DR I'm a far leftist and even I hate SJW's and idpolers encrouching on our hobby. I game partly to take a break from real world politics. You know the SJWs have really done it when they're pissing off an actual communist!

That group of halfwits seems like the 3 year olds who giggle when someone says "poo poo" - seriously, what the fuck?

Well if they only cleanse their bodies when they are to sea travel I'm guessing they usually stink.
