This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

"It's okay: Gary sent us."

A friend gave me his old copy of the red D&D Basic book (Moldvay) and I was skimming through it with my morning coffee and nearly choked from laughing when I came across this in one of the examples:

"It's okay: Gary sent us," said Silverleaf.

The group in the example was confronted by some hobgoblins and the leader asked the party what they were doing in the dungeon, and the above was Silverleaf's response.

I found it amusing for some reason so I thought I would share it. :)

when i first started playing, it was moldvay basic.  i had no idea to what that referred.  then a few years later i started playing ad&d and suddenly it clicked.  classic :)

Quote from: Old Geezer;724252At some point it seems like D&D is going to disappear up its own ass.

I had to go look it up. I didn't remember that, still, fun.
