This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Ok, there's a thread about a product killing a game you liked, and I, as an amanojaku, decided to invert the idea by talking about products I like even if I don't like the system they're for.

Rather than disresepct the Op of that thread by jacking his thread, I'm starting a new thread out of respect. Besides, some of the fucktards here need examples of respect set for them since they obviously know nothing about it.

So, are there game products you like even if they're for game lines you don't like? For me, as I've said, I like "1001 science fiction weapons" a lot even tho it's for d20 and I don't like d20.

Some people here may dislike gurps but maybe there's a gurps product they like for some reason? If so say so.
RPGPundit is a fucking fascist asshole and a hypocritial megadouche.

If I don't play a game, I don't tend to look at products for it.

I got some very nifty ideas out of Burning Empires, and I can totally strip mine Palladium Fantasy.

Koltar, my dear:

I own oodles of GURPS stuff, and I won´t repent.

@droog: Hard to find anything about Starships and Interstellar Trade or the Lensmen in a public library!

Your library doesn't have Poul Anderson or EE Smith novels?
You are posting in a troll thread.

Now, that´s counter civilizatorian stance you are taking.
On the shoulders of Traveller authors I do stand and can see much farther. It´s called division of labour:

I pay an economist for getting the trade rules straight, and I use them to simulate my corner of the galaxy to have adventures therein.

I'm totally unexcited by CoC, but The Complete Masks of Nyarlathotep is the shit.

Posting without the OP read, but products I like for games I don't play?

GURPS books, absolutely. Horror for 3rd and Imperial Rome are as well-thumbed as my copy of CP2020. Why wade through entire post-secondary level reference or text books when the game-critical information is all in one handy softcover? And it's pretty easy to decipher GURPS stats once you know a half-dozen acronyms, so one can even make rough use of any stats.

Anything detailing Sanctuary, or its world in general.

Games of Divinity, though much-maligned, contains what is quite possibly the best Hell in gaming.

I like going through Rifts books to steal a cool thing or two for some other campaign; the Arkhons of South America (don't remember if they're in 1 or 2 off-hand) have appeared in a sci-fi game, for example.
Heroism is no more than a chapter in a tale of submission.

GURPS sourcebooks has always been a great resource even though I don't use the system. (Well I do use GURPS but not very often)

GURPS is about the only system out there that, although I dislike it immensely, will still pick up the occasional sourcebook.
